I bought the empty tool (no battery or charger) because I already am invested in the Ryobi ecology so the question about battery life should be ignored in my review. I used a 6AH Chineseium battery and sanded using 60 grit discs for a good 4 hours on that single battery. There was still a good 2 out of three bars left. The tool fit nice in my hands and made short work of the sanding I had to do. The included vauum function with bag worked pretty well although you have to make sure you push and twist it on very tightly or the vibrations will rattle the bag off. The one nit I have to pick is that the On/Off button was too hard for me to switch using just one hand (I'm lacking hand strength these days). In short, it's a great tool and I have no qualms about recommending it to others who are already invested in the 18v OnePlus Ecosphere. ... show more

I already had a Ryobi battery for another tool, so this random orbital sander is anther investment in the ecosystem. Surprisingly powerful. Comes with three grades of sandpaper disks to get you started. Price was lower than local big box hardware store that carry’s Ryobi.     • Great for the low cost!
I have been getting into wood working recently as a beginner, and this product really does help! It is affordable for the amateur I am, and it gets the job done. It is very easy to remove and put the sand paper on. It is also very convenient as it's cordless! I will add though, the battery life on Ryobi batteries aren't the greatest, but will definitely last! 9/10 item! ... show more

I love my cordless tools! This is so convenient! The sander has good power and does a fine job. It seemed that the battery died awfully quickly. I have many of the Ryobi One tools and batteries, so I purchased this as a bare tool. Maybe my batteries are wearing out, but they seem to last on my other Ryobi tools. Still, I really enjoy using this sander and would recommend it. Just keep spare batteries nearby. ... show more

    • Good for small projects and smooth finishes
It drained two big batteries in less than 20 minutes. A corded sander is better. Is heavy and not a lot of power to work on rough wood surfaces. I wanted to replace my black and decker mouse sander but the mouse sander is more effective. I regret buying this tool.
