i had a charged battery already. it works great. and how the line feeds is kinda handy, just keep the throttle slow speed when walking to a spot if dont wanna feed line. i love ryobi products. for a 18v weed wacket this is what i was hoping, enough power to do maintenance around yard, i have my ryobi gas trimmer for tall weeds and other attachments, i just wanted something grab go hit tall grass. no gas no fidgeting with a carb, just legit grab and go. i have 8 4ah batteries, i always have 1 ready lol. ... show more

    • Light weight and powerful!
The only thing I didn't like about the product is that the shield on the trimmer would not fit easily, it took a lot of maneuvering and brute force to make it fit. Other than that the product is phenomenal. I struggled at first with the line length, but it turned out to be just error. I figured out that I just had to hold the trigger down constantly because releasing and pressing again would make the line longer. I'm a fan and would but this product again. I did have to wait forever after the expected delivery to get the product. I had actually given up on getting it as a week after it was supposed to arrive it had not even been picked up from the seller. But one day arrived as a surprise. I'm glad I didn't but another one.. ... show more

Purchased of ryobi set as my husband father's day gift. He has enjoyed it and uses it to keep up with our backyard. The equipment is great and we have other ryobi products that we use to keep up with our home. Highly recommend it!

    • Low quality and power
I ordered a 40v trimmer after trying this in the front yard. I used it maybe 20 or 30 minutes before I gave up on it and put it in the shed. I decided for the back yard I'd have my daughter do light duty stuff with this trimmer and I'd use the 40v and we'd get it done twice as fast. After around 10 minutes this started cutting out on her. I think the battery slips, but it's unusable now. Definitely get a warranty. I'm screwed on mine, I ordered it on sale last October on sale, so the return window is closed. The seller isn't an authorized Ryobi dealer so there's no warranty support either. ... show more

When someone looks for DIY tools of the trade, taking into account, cost, life cycle, performance...And, best of all, how many tools are compatible with battery resource, this brand name (that since the 80s, do their job)...Hand Saws, Routers, Drills, soldering Stations, Working lights, multitools, jigsaws, 18" fans...etc, giving the appropriate use, and maitenance after the work, as they were design for, are my perfect choice in affordable tools for occassional use...and with this trimmer and blower, for a normal garden, are just fine....replaced other that gave me 10 + years, and if the motors were available for DIY repair, will last forever...I highly recommended, as well as the seller. ... show more

Needs stronger line for the weed Wacker. Battery life could be better too. Weight is heavier than expected. Size is ok. The leaf blower is good but weed Wacker could be better.
