  • Great Saw for the money!!!
I can't say enough about how happy I am with this saw. The price was great (compared to what Home Depot sells it for). I had the older version and the motor died. I tried to fix it, but finally gave up. I found this newer version Ryobi makes at a great price here on Amazon. I pulled the trigger and bought it. When it arrived, I was impressed by the quality in innovations made on this newer version. The only thing it didn't have was a laser guide. But everything else was build so much better that I quickly forgot about it not having a laser. I love this new one. It doesn't have all of the bells and whistles of the other Ryobi miter saws such as a bigger blade, and slider for cutting wider pieces, but the tools with those options are much larger and less convenient to toss around. This tool is small. Easy to toss around and it can cut bigger pieces of wood than advertised if you just take a few moments to line stuff up when making a double cut. Really, I love it! Hope this helps you decide. ... show more

  • SAW a great deal and this thing can cut!!
Great product, Ryobi should get rid of the dust bags and should provide hose adapters as I hook this up directly to my shop vac!

  • Compact, Lightweight, Cuts Great, Husband Loves it.
We had been borrowing a neighbor’s miter saw. It was this heavy beast of a machine that we always had to lug about because we did cutting outside, but didn’t feel safe leaving it outside. When the neighbor finally needed it back, we were finally in a position to buy our own. We happened to stumble across this one, and we were already on Team Ryobi, so it made sense. Husband was worried it might be too small to be really useful, but we decided to try it. He LOVES it. It’s so light and easy to pick up and move about. It’s tiny and compact, which makes storage convenient. And battery-powered means that we’re not limited in WHERE we use it. It’s large enough and powerful enough to do everything that we need to do. (Sometimes and item has to be cut from both sides, but that was true with the larger miter saw that we’d been borrowing as well.) He’s been using it for a while now on home renovation projects, and it’s been great. ... show more

  • A good saw but lack of features shame on you ryobi.
I would give it five stars but two things I don’t like about it is there’s no laser or flashlight to illuminate the work surface so focus on the mark line you put and hope you cut on the right spot and the second is the saw place is the worse blade I ever tried it to cut a piece of wood and no lie that a piece of wood went flying and almost hit someone the blade gave it a horrible rough cut feeling had to get a better blade and I did and now it cuts smoother with no wood flying and had to buy a laser disc that you put on a miter saw that Amazon has and works and feels like a miter saw. I bought this model for when I need one but would not recommend it if you love ryobi and want to buy this saw I rather someone buy the brushless model cost more but has better features than this saw but I would get a different brand than this one with more features and have to buy a miter saw stand to help support the lone woods you have to cut it was hard to cut trim for the door trim with out have a stand to support it so Amazon has all the stuff for a miter saw just if you have the money to buy it but recommend so save your money fir a different brand I know some people love it like ryobi tools but if they do buy there corded or brushless miter saw that has the light or laser and maybe a better blade I brought one on Amazon for 9 dollars for the 60 tooth blade so you can save money instead of going to Home Depot to buy a 30 or 40 dollar one when you may not use it all the time so buy it if you dare or want just be careful and have eye protection goggles for your eyes when you use it. ... show more

  • Perfect for most small DIY jobs - portability is more useful than I realized
For a few hundred bucks in boards and the cost of this saw, I saved a ton of money by installing all new trim in my house myself - didn't take that long either. I've also found it's just so dang convenient for many other cutting tasks. Just grab this thing, set it right next to where you're working, and it couldn't be slicker. I've also cut some pretty wide boards with this, and found it pretty easy to cut from both sides. You can't tell it's two cuts vs one. I also don't need saw horses or a table/bench - a Styrofoam block or two is all that's needed if I have it sitting on the ground. I will note than I have a 4 Amp battery and 2 1.8 Amp batteries. This thing runs a ton better when it has plenty of juice. I use it in AZ, where it's pretty hot (which is hard on battery performance), and I could get a full morning of cutting with the 4 Amp. By the time it was too hot to be outside cutting (cause even with the bag, there's plenty of dust) my battery would be reaching the end. I'd say about 4-5 hours of pretty steady use. ... show more

  • Ladies, this is not the trim saw you are looking for
I'm a Ryobi girl for sure and have a lot of tools in the ONE+ line. This saw has been my one disappointment. I bought it hoping for a convenient saw for small projects such as interior trim. It's lightweight and easy enough to move around, but that's where the convenience ends. The included blade is not really suitable for trim; it's OK for a 2 x 4 (this saw is not what you want to be using to cut 2 x 4's) but it doesn't have enough teeth for trim. (Ask me about bits of trim flying across the room ... or don't ask. Suffice it to say, this thing is a danger to one's eyes.) Fine, I can change a sawblade lol. OR CAN I? OR CAN YOU, my burly friend? I thought there must be some mystical lock on it and took to the YouTubes where I discovered that Ryobi miter saw blades being installed waaaay too tight such that large men could not change the blade no matter what is a known issue. Due to the stupid blade, the saw freezes up halfway through cuts ALL THE TIME so you have to go veeeeeeery slowly and sometimes that's not enough to keep the blade from freezing. All in all, this is the worst tool purchase I have ever made and it's headed for the junk pile; a total waste of money. ... show more
