This is a pretty effective blackout apparatus as far as light blockage is concerned. When they say no light will leak in though, that's a bit of a half truth. Yes, the light that hits the canvas directly has no shot, it is not getting in, that much is great about it. But one thing that never fails with these ready made shades is the sizing and the affixing. Those things never fit exactly (and I mean never) and are always troublesome. This is no different, the shade attached but there are not enough tailor made fasteners to make it really work or look good (sure you could develop your own, I use those brass coffee bag clasps) but it would look so much better and work even better if there were more fasteners and more places in the actual shade to fasten the fasteners. This is what gets me about these things. They seem to think it'll look good -- or they're cheaping it, likely the latter -- that you can only affix them at four or 6 spots out of the bag. Not totally effective unless you have more fasteners. 3 stars.

This was exactly what we needed. It's not a roller like that ones you pull down a little and it springs up. This is a stick in a pocket at the bottom of the panel that you manually roll up and anchor with the tie backs included. We have a small window without a frame and just needed a blackout liner to attach to the curtain. One side is black and one side is white. We have the white facing outside. It was easy to cut to the size we needed. If we need another, my wife wants to get another of these. Thank you for reading, I hope it was helpful.

Thanks for reading my review! On the plus side, this really blocks any light and makes your room itch dark. On the bad side, it looks and feels cheap and just doesn't look stylish at all. I only put this up and take it down when I have movie nights and want the room completely dark, but I take it down at all other times because it just looks awful. There are better solutions to getting a room darker.

I got this cuttable shade in the greyish white color to make my RV kitchen curtains into blackout curtains. There was plenty of material here for both curtains. The fabric is very soft and flexible and can be washed along with the curtains. The kitchen curtains are white and sheer, so this makes a very nice backing for them.

I do love this curtain! Thick soft material! The Velcro is a nice option so I don’t have to drill into my door! Magnetic ones usually fall or don’t stick well, but this does! I should have measured my window area on my door, while the width is perfect, the length is about 3 inches too short, no fault to the seller, that was my error! Will order again!
