It comes threaded + ready to sew. Has adequate instructions, just barely enough! Do watch How-To videos on this machine on YouTube. It's a bit finicky + has jammed due to tangled thread a few times but i think it's from my cheap thread. Treat the machine gently as it's plastic, though it's well-made + sturdy. Every issue I've had turned out to be my mistake threading it or changing the tension. I'm just an ok beginner. But I've made several shirts, fixed pants, altered dresses with this nice machine. It can't handle many thick layers of tougher fabrics but can hem jeans. Super portable! Easy to use overall. The pedal is a little chintzy so treat it with care, especially where the cord connects so it can have a long life. Before this, i had the Mini + this is a big step up! I had ordered a sewing machine and I had received it. It worked great for about four inches on a cloth hem then it popped and quit working. I messaged the company here on amazon and told them what had happened. Two days later I had a new machine and it's working great. The company was easy to deal with on a warranty issue and they sent my replacement out very quick. The machine is very easy to use, even for a beginner like myself.     • Great for simple projects, be careful about anything more difficult
This machine is great for simple fixes, seams, and <2 hour projects that largely just require straight stitching. But once I graduated from repairing holes and sewing small darts, I realized the machine isn't of the most solid construction so it does not hold up to larger projects like full-on making your own clothes- my first machine's needles kept on breaking while using the zig-zag function and the machine is finicky- everything needs to be perfect for it to work, and I wouldn't recommend sewing any thicker fabrics or multiple layers of fabric. After that, it fully stopped being able to zigzag. The customer service was very sweet and gave me a second machine, but the second one's hook timing was faulty after 10 minutes, and now that one is useless too. I'd absolutely recommend for quick mending and short projects, but if you're looking for something that could make more complex articles of clothing or sustain itself for longer projects, this may not be the sewing machine for you. ... show more

This is the first time I've ever used a sewing machine. I was very skeptical at first, but it worked great. Straight out of the box, it was already threaded and ready to go. I plugged it in and immediately started sewing. Since receiving, I've made 3 small curtains and a pillow. I would definitely recommend. It's very small and light weight. I'm not sure if there might be a better option out there but this machine was in my price range and has been able to help with doing small clothing mends and I really love having it. It did take me a little to learn how to get the hang of it but it comes with good instructions and the video in the amazon ad really helped too. ... show more

Okay so it works fine sometimes, but it jams SO MUCH and it's so annoying because of that. It's not horrible but if you're going to buy it, just make sure you won't get mad if it runs a project because it jams. Goodluck ig...
