    • Absolute waste of money
I purchased this on March 3 and by May 10 (same year!) I had gone through all 4 plugs. Why? Well.... absolutely nothing I could do, no amount of Teflon tape (and no tape), and no matter how tight you screwed them in, they all managed to leak after just a few weeks. Went and bought a brass plug at Home Depot for under $5 and guess what? NO PROBLEM. Save yourself the money, the time and aggravation - Just go get a "real" plug and stay away from these nylon pieces of garbage. As for the tool, wasn't able to even give it a try. Due to the placement of the plug on my water heater, there was no way to turn the wrench so I had to use a pair of pliers. ... show more

    • Quality and Design Questionable
Initially liked the design of the wrench as it made it easy to access the drain plug. However, the material could be thicker so that it covers more surface of the plug head. The wrench easily slips off and hard to keep on the plug head. I replaced my existing drain plug with a new one provided with the wrench. Yesterday the new plug developed a thin crack in the head and spewed pressured water from the tank unknown to me for awhile. I had to drain the water heater tank and thankful I kept my old one to replace it with. Quality of the material is questionable. Think I'm going to an RV store to get a replacement drain plug that is a little more meatier. ... show more

    • I would not buy this again.
First, the nylon plugs are not tapered like the factory plug. You need to wrap them with a lot of tape to get them to seal, and mine still seeps a little bit. Also they are not 15/16”, they take a 7/8” wrench or socket. They will work in an emergency, but thats about it.

    • Good replacement
The plug fit just fine. Considering that I replaced the original one that was 15 years old, the multiple plugs should last me forever. Including tape was a nice touch even though I always have tape. Including the wrench was even better and I anticipated it easing removing the plug each year for winterizing. Unfortunately, the way the heater and plug are situated in the compartment there is no way to rotate the wrench. I have to grab the plug straight on with an adjustable wrench and twist. ... show more

    • Much easier to use
My monkey wrench barely fit in the space to get to the water heater plug. Such a pain. I wanted spare plugs, and when I saw this offset wrench I jumped at it. I'm so glad I did! It solves the monkey wrench debacle. It comes with Teflon tape too, so provide a secure seal. Great set, you'll like it too. ... show more

    • Is what is shown but may not work for you.
It is exactly what is shown but it did not work for me because there just wasn't room on my tank to get this wrench in. For me a good socket worked better but 7/8th of an inch is just now one that was in my set. Since corrected. So I can't blame the tool for the issue but be aware and go and look at your hot water heater and see if this will fit before you buy it. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Cheap plastic. This plug lasted all of 16 days. I'd return it but the return window closed 3 days before the plug failed. Good thing I saved the old chewed up plug that has lasted me over 10 years. The thickness of the old plug vs this one is incredible.

    • Good fit
Worked well and provided a better way to work with the water heater plug. Had used channel locks to remove plug originally and found that I had to clean up the corners because this tool is a tight fit on the plug and the channel locks had rounded them a little.
