This is a well-thought-out kit for those looking to secure an awning on an RV. I lost an awning years ago due to a hard, fast rain; had I had the ability to tie the awning down with a kit such as this, the odds of the awning filling full of rain and bending the tube would have dropped significantly. This kit would also offer peace of mind when the wind kicks up and starts lifting the awning. This kit comes complete with ground anchors, springs, and straps; everything you need to secure an awning. I have two concerns. First, the method of attaching the straps to the awning frame seems like a good one, but thinking back to my RVing days (I bought this kit for a different purpose), I can't quite conceive of how the strap would wrap around the awning tube as shown in the pictures; there wasn't much room between the awning fabric and the stabilization bars. I guess if you're looking at this kit, you could just take a look at your awning and decide for yourself if the attachment method will work with your awning (again, I ordered this product for a different purpose). The other concern I have is, this kit uses corkscrew-style ground anchors, and the ground gets pretty hard in the summertime here in the midwest. While the corkscrew-style ground anchor is the best way to go, buyers should be aware that they may need to wet the ground for a few hours before they'll be able to run these anchors home. If a buyer is setting up an RV for long-term use, this isn't much of a concern, but if an RV will only be in a spot for a day or two, this kit is going to be a lot of work to deploy; it might be easier to just roll up the awning if the threat of a hard rain or high winds becomes a possibility. Overall, a great kit worth having if you own an RV, especially one with a large awning. I would order it again.

This works really well and is easy to put up and take down. It comes with its own storage bag for when you are storing it. It hooked really tightly around the awning and was just the right size fitting but there was bit a lot of adjustment for my older larger awning bar. The straps are super long and there is plenty left over when connected. The anchors go down fairly easy and have a good hold. The springs connect between the anchor and the strap and provide some cushion if the wind blows before completely stopping. The only negative for me was the strap has to be run from the ground up to tighten right and intuitively the strap is coming from the top down. It works but just seems odd at first. Not a big negative but that and the inability to tighten or loosen the awning strap makes it 5 instead of 4. Overall, still a great tie down and I recommend it.

I bought this for a sunshade connected to some fencing. I'm not really impressed with it for a couple of reasons. There isn't $30 worth of stuff included imo. The straps locking system is definitely not designed to handle any real force. I know their listing effectively says 'don't use this if there is any wind' but I've seen other systems for RV awnings that had no problem with wind, and I don't think this one would actually work well. The springs are closed on one side, so if you want to use them slightly differently than recommended you have to bend them open enough to get something through the loop. The strap is heavy duty, the springs are heavy duty, the anchors are heavy duty. I don't care for the ratchets at all as they won't hold up to any force.

Used these on a recent trip, came back to RV as a rainstorm was hitting with the awning out. We immediately dropped the awning enough to hopefully reduce drag and tightened the straps. Both the straps and the pegs held. May not hold as well in sandy or rocky soils. The straps are nicely made from good materials. The metal bits and pegs seem to be alright we will see as they encounter more differing weather and soil conditions. Will update if issues arise.

I use this awning anchor kit with my horse trailer electric awning. So far it has worked very well. I have used them in moderate wind, and they have served me well. It is nice to be able to enjoy my awning in the rain even when it is windy. They are very easy to put together and take back apart. They clip on easily, yet securely. The straps are well made and seem very durable. The anchors are okay, but if I were expecting heavy duty wind, I would switch them out for trampoline anchors or something a little sturdier. However, most cases these should work just fine. I think it's a good price and a fraction of the cost it would be to replace a damaged awning. This falls under the I'd rather be safe than sorry category. These live in my horse trailer and I will put them on at the first breeze. I recommend them highly!

Unfortunately, I’ve had to use this as we live in the middle of nowhere where there aren’t any trees, so the wind gets a little bit nasty here. This worked extremely well, and was easy to put together. I am used to dealing with ratchet straps, but on a much bigger scale, so these were easy to utilize for me, and would be easy for anyone to utilize. definitely a much needed product, and it will last for a long time.
