Amazon invited me to review this as part of the Vine program. Our class C RV has a typical 15' awning, manually extended and retracted. This screen has two parts. The top part is opaque, about 2' high, with a plastic bead embedded in the top and a zipper connection on the bottom. This part is threaded into the channel on the RV and stays there between uses. When the awning is unrolled, this part hangs down, and when it is rolled up, it gets rolled into the awning. In my case, there is one small challenge--this channel is shared with the strap that hangs down from the awning. This would not be the case if your awning has an electric motor for extension and retraction. It will still work for me, though. Once the awning is extended, this 2' (black opaque) strap will hang down on the outside edge of the awning. Then the heavy duty mesh attaches via a zipper (black, flat nylon teeth,heavier duty). Between uses, the mesh panel, along with the included stakes and securing loops, stores in a provided black plastic bag with dual drawstrings. This product turns our RV awning into something halfway between a screened in porch and an open porch--there are no panels on the ends. It is most useful in low wind, high sun south-facing environments. Here in the mountains of Colorado that is a less common scenario, not so much in other climate zones. Because of this, I'm still debating whether to keep this installed all the time or keep it in reserve for when it's most needed.

This sunshade is really well made. The 10' is pretty heavy for its size and the kit comes with everything you need to install and stake to the ground. I got this for my home roll up awning, but unfortunately, failed to see that I did not have an extra slot. Mine has a slot that has a 6" fabric drop in it. I was thinking about using that, but mine has caps that need to be removed in order to slide that out. They are there to keep it from coming out since it is a permanent fixture in mine. I can do that and then unzip and use the top portion as my drop like I believe it is supposed to be used. One word of advice is measure twice and don't take the word of the manufacture on its' size I ended up ordering a size that was just a little too long. I am going to have to cut and restitch it to make it smaller. Otherwise, it will not roll up properly. I did put it in place and it works great. Long enough to reach the bottom of my railing on my deck to strap it to. When properly used, this sunshade will work great and be a great addition to your RV or house. I believe this should be able to handle any wind that the awning itself should be able to handle. It really blocks out the sun and where I live, in the summer time it is strong and low, so this really helps block out the heat. Just wish I got one of these sooner.

I purchased this sun shade screen for my RV trailer, and it works perfectly. The material feels very durable—1200D Oxford cloth with vinyl mesh—and it provides excellent UV protection (I can tell it really blocks out the sun). The black color looks sleek and modern, and it keeps the area under the awning much cooler during hot days. Installation was straightforward with the included kit; all the straps, clips, and accessories were included, and the zipper makes opening and closing the screen simple and smooth. I also like that it fits my 15’ awning exactly as advertised.
