I purchased this lamp in September of 2013. Putting it together was a challenge in that the factory wiring was done poorly. It had plenty of wire, but it was not distributed correctly between the base, first, and second section of the poles. The wire should have been adjusted such that the majority of the wire is from the plug for the wall to the base of the lamp, then a short section from base to first pole section and a short amount from the first pole section to the second pole section. Instead most of the wire was on the pole side of the base forcing me to shove and cram the excess wire into the first pole section. There is no simple slide adjustment process to move the base along the wire to adjust the length. And for the price, there should have been no need to make any adjustment. The main three way lamp began to fail in late December/early January. At first we thought it was the bulb so we replaced that. But the problem continued. The three way bulb would only work in two settings, high and low. And above that, unlike a regular bulb going from low to medium to high, this unit developed the issue of going on in the high or brightest setting first, then as we turned the switched it dropped to the lowest setting, skipping the middle level completely. and I say developed the problem as when we first got the lamp it did work normally from low, to middle, to high intensity. Finally by the end of February of this year, the three way unit stopped coming on at all. Again we tried a new bulb but it didn't make any difference. I tried to trouble shoot the lamp today and managed to adjust the length of the wire from the plug to the base by sliding the hollow threaded stud along the wire. Unfortunately, this did scrape the outer insulation some in the process. I was hoping I might be able to replace the three-way switch, but trying to take the whole lamp apart is really beyond my skill without killing it completely and for this kind of money I shouldn't have to. We like the looks of the lamp very much, although we would have preferred it to be taller for where we are using it. It is sturdy and under ordinary use I would expect it could last many years. But the workmanship of the wiring and cheap components that have failed forces me to give this one star. I wish I could send it back for a refund, but it's so heavy it would cost a lot just to ship it even if I could get a credit for it. DON'T BUY THIS BRAND, IT IS POORLY MADE.

Just received my new lamp. I had searched our local stores and spent hours on the internet, debating numerous options. Finally found all the features I was looking for in this lamp; the reasonable sale price cinched the deal. The pictures and prior reviews were very helpful. I will echo the statements of others: quick delivery, well packaged, easy assembly, well made and unique. It has a modern look but would blend in well with different styles of furniture. I purchased the lamp primarily as a "chair reading lamp" but it also adds light and "interest" to an empty, dark corner. I am an infrequent Internet buyer, as I always assume that words and pictures can be deceiving. I was pleasantly surprised!

Needed a bright light for long and dimly lit room....this was shipped ok. Glass components are darker in color than they appear and quite heavy. Does not include bulbs. However I spent an hour alone trying to assemble. The cords appeared stuck and not easily moved. I was convinced it was defective. A friend came over and together we figured out what was wrong...the instructions were inadequate....when we finally put the pieces together, we could not get it stable....again thinking it was defective... We figured out that we were able to screw in the nut on the bottom...it was tricky...now that it is working, I am happy to get the light...overall instructions are really inadequate!

This is such a beautiful lamp. I plan to order two additional lamps. The glass is creates such a warm glow and artful in it's own right. The top light uses a dimmable bulb, very nice feature The lamp itself is very well balanced, easy to put together, good packaging but open the box outdoors and take the pieces indoors to put together.

This was a beautiful lamp, once I got it together. It came with no instructions. I called and they e-mailed instructions which was only a picture. It took me a week to finally figure it out and get all the wires out of sight. The wire was almost impossible to pull thru. One of the globes was broken, but they sent one immediately. If you are mechanically minded than I am, you probably would have no problem with it. But some step by step instructions would be nice.
