  • Solid product
Works as advertised. The clickers aren’t the softest but considering that is literally how it’s powered. Makes it a great tradeoff

  • Needs improvement to be worth the price.
At $60 USD this is the most expensive smart home device I own (including Hue products) and for that price I expect a lot more consistency from the product. The idea of a battery-and-wire-free smart light controller was extremely exciting to me, but in practice this switch is unresponsive about 1/3 of the time. Simply nothing will happen some of the times I press it. After one or two more frustrated clicks it will work fine. That’s just not acceptable for the price. I’d rather deal with changing batteries every year or so but know the product will work every time. I’ll explore and see if the company can warranty repair or something but chances are this will be returned. They have a great product idea but I’m not their beta tester, I want a 100% working product. ... show more

  • Awesome. Just as advertised. Amazing product. Will buy more.
The media could not be loaded. Too easy to install. Just follow the instructions and it is working with two of the Phillips Hue ceiling lamps. Totally worth it.

  • Expensive, but does a job not otherwise easily done
This product does a specific job. You need to turn smart devices on and off; those devices are compatible with Philips Hue directly or indirectly; and there isn't a cheaper device-specific remote or you want to replace a standard Decora switch. Unlike Philips' standard Hue remote devices, this device WILL fit in a standard outlet box and use a standard Decora cover plate. You do not HAVE to use an outlet box; it comes with a somewhat low-profile surface mount box and cover plate. You can use this device to turn Hue devices on and off. You can also use it to turn HomeKit devices on and off, because your Hue hub will recognize it as a switch and make that switch available to HomeKit. I've used it to turn an iHome smart plug on and off using HomeKit. The switch can be configured as a single switch or split in two, to control two different devices. It does work, but it doesn't always work on the first press. Occasionally, you need to press twice, presumably to generate enough power to send the radio signal. You cannot press both switches at once, or even in rapid succession; you have to wait a moment between presses for best results. The switch is loud, making a distinct snapping click when pressed. That's part of the energy-generation mechanism. That might make it unsuitable for use in bedrooms, if you expect to use it while people are sleeping. You may need to use care installing it, to avoid placing it over a hollow section of wallboard that might act as a sounding board, increasing the noise from the click. Even with those limitations, this product fills a niche that no one else is addressing. When you need it, it's the only option. (And it's priced accordingly.) In many cases, there are cheaper Hue-compatible remotes that will do the job, if you can stand the design (and occasional battery replacement). But there's definitely a place for this switch. ... show more

  • PLEASE READ... Pertinent Info Provided
Aside from the white switch, these are all RunLess switches in gray, with brushed nickel wall plates. It was hard to find a "smart switch" that fit into existing electrical box. I was wholly ready to get one with batteries (especially) if I could get a decora style switch and just deal with changing batteries sometimes. There were plenty of options out there that took batteries but would not fit a standard electrical box. A FEW that could- then I stumbled upon RunLess wire switches. They said (no batteries), I believe some type of kinetic energy supplied when you click the switch. To put it mildly,, I was highly dubious. Super small mounting depth - too good to be true. I ordered a couple and OMG!! UN- FREAKING - BELIEVABLE!!! I now have about 10 or so of these things. Will be adding another 15-20 as I expand my hue lighting throughout the house. I only have one switch that takes multiple attempts to work...and its the closest to the light it contros as well as my hue bridge, so I assume its defective. I will be contacting the company next week- we shall see how that goes. Anyway, AMAZING product!!!! You can have one single decora style rocker (I use these in areas that guests may use so they are not confused. You can program it to turn on one light, multiple lights, hold to dim or brighten (or make that setting adjusted however and whatever color you may want) with just one click. Now, you also have the option to have 2 rocker switches in the same decora space...now your possibilities are almost endless. Each direction on each rockerncsn control any light or lights you wish, then you have an option to hold down the rocker to perform another function. That's 8 controls, of any light or lights in your house. JUST AMAZING!! They also work flawlessly (with my one exception). If you're on the fence for any reason - forget it and get it. No-brainer. I'm a total techie and have seen nothing like this product. Oh, and by the way, the programming of each switch and whatever press or press and hold couldn't be any easier. I've purchased over $3k in tech gadgets over last couple months- this product from RunLess wire is far and away the best!! ... show more

  • Hard to Operate
I really wanted to like this switch. It is voodoo magic the way it works! But it's hard to click it. I have one installed around the corner of a wall and you just can't reach around and click it. You have to be standing right in front of the switch and press it hard. Sometimes you press it and it doesn't trigger the operation. You need to press it harder. It's not a casual walk by and flick the switch operation. The split switch makes this harder; you have to fumble around to get the right one and click it the right way. Programming it is a little challenging, but is really flexible and nice once set up. I ordered a black one and it had scuffs on it that I was unable to buff out. Not noticeable on white. I am keeping these switches in locations where you stand right in front of the switch. But am going back to rocker switches for most which are super easy to operate as you whiz on by. ... show more
