Someone said the display is upside down. WRONG. In the US, the proper electrical outlet configuration is: GROUND ON THE BOTTOM. If the electrician installed your outlets correctly, you will have NO problems. I want to thank the reviewer who prepared me for the fact this timer really takes up two places. You might as well install it in the lower socket because if you use the upper socket, there won't be enough room to plug anything into the lower socket. I have several outlets in each room so that's a small price to pay. But if you're planning on having this timer share an outlet with another plug, you can forget that. Ain't gonna happen. Someone said this timer is hard to program. Poppycock! Just for the fun of it, I've played with the timing configurations, including ones I'm not using. They ALL work. And they're all EASY to program. I like this timer SO much, after 8 hours of usage I ordered two more !!! NOW MY RECOMMENDATIONS: The one drawback of this timer is the lack of ability to program based on the day. I use this timer during the weekdays to cut power during the time of the day when the electric rates spike. However, on the weekends I have to manually reconfigure the timer to stay on during those periods. Not a deal breaker but it would be nice to be able to set it and forget it. Another feature that would be nice would be the ability to program TWO different sets of intervals. Ex: For a certain portion of the day it would turn on and off every ten minutes. Then at another portion of the day it would turn on and off every hour. Of course, the thing is: people are ALREADY complaining this timer is too difficult to program (which it's NOT btw). So imagine the backlash if the manufacturers created an even MORE complex timer. ONE OTHER THING: I read a lot of reviews before I ordered this timer. And I was waiting with trepidation for this timer to arrive, expecting I was going to have a difficult experience getting it to work. So I have to tell you I was SHOCKED when I opened the instructions and saw how EASY they were to follow. Please DON'T believe the negative reviewers. This timer is a snap to use. I LOVE IT!

After using these digital timers, I will never use the old style analog timers again. They are easy enough to set and use, just don't lose the instructions. They seem to keep accurate time well.

I purchased this timer to use for heating/keeping chocolate melts warm. I have it set to turn on for 5 minutes then turn off for 5 minutes and so on. This way I don’t risk overheating the chocolate. It works GREAT!

My wife is sensitive to strong smells, yet we enjoy having subtle pleasant scents in the house. Those air-scent things that plug in and heat the oil are just way too strong for out tastes. But what I have done was take one of these timers, programmed it for 5 or so minutes on; then 15 or so off. Plug the air-scent oil heater in and it's way less concentrated (and lasts umpteen times longer!) We now want one at the other end of the house. I'm ordering another, despite the one major drawback. (see below) Pros: + it does the job I described above + I ordered it in 2018 and it's still working just fine Cons: — it takes up both receptacles! Grrr! WHY couldn't they leave half of the outlet for other plugs. Some one MIGHT say they got a very, very, narrow plug into the other outlet, but there won't be many (see picture).

Used it several times for interval timing and distiller timing. Works as it suppose to do. Still don't know how durable it is, but so far so good. Can't set it up without instructions though lol. Not hard but still need them. Better not lose it :)

I have a dehumidifier continuously running without a proper break at the setting humidity point. By setting 1.5 hours running and 1 hour break (continuous intervals function), it works really well. It is easy to use. Highly recommend!
