Description

The Lutron Caséta Smart Hub allows for setup, control and monitoring of Caséta wireless dimmers and Serena remote controlled shades from a smartphone or tablet. The Lutron Caséta Smart Hub also works with Alexa, Google Assistant, Ring, select Honeywell thermostats, Logitech Harmony remotes and Apple Home. Schedule lights to adjust automatically based on the time of day or create your favorite scenes that adjust multiple lights and shades with the press of a button. Enable geofencing to automatically turn your lights on/off when you leave or approach home or to notify you that you left your lights on. Installation is easy, the dimmers simply plug into standard outlets and allow you to control up to 2 lamps per dimmer.

All of the important and most used lights in our house are on the Caseta system and have been for years. It’s uber-reliable and easy to setup and maintain. It’s all five stars. My system includes the hub, lamp dimmers, wall switches, outdoor switches. Everything works as it should and with zero trouble. I recommend the system wholeheartedly and have installed many systems for others over the years. I bought this starter set from Amazon Resale at a great price and installed it for a new Caseta user - the hub, two lamp dimmers, and two pico switches (mounted to the wall). Although the system looked brand new, during the setup process, one of the lamp dimmers came up as “already in use”. One of the pico switches was already named as well. No matter, it was just a matter of deleting them from the app and reinstalling them with new names and room locations. The system operated just fine, just like always. Bottom line, all things Caseta are five stars. Don’t be afraid of ordering from Amazon Resale. It’s a great way to get quality products at lower prices. Sure, I had to delete one of the components from the app before installing it. That was trivial and well worth the money saved by ordering from Amazon Resale. Bottom line - Caseta really is a phenomenal product and just plain works. Highly, highly recommended ... show more

I love the Lutron Caseta product line. The kit gives you one switch and the Smart Bridge so that you can control lights w your SmartPhone or your voice w Alexa. Add new switches ar plug-in lamp modules for easy control. My front coach lights and porch go on at sunset.and off at 1am. Never come home to a dark house. We say Alexa, Goodnight and it turns off all the lights we use regularly. ... show more

Having tried many less expensive solutions for lighting automation I can tell you from experience this is simply the most reliable hands down. Other devices worked well for a while but then they needed to be unplugged and plugged back in to reset the device to get it back on line. The schedules that were setup didn't work and the apps that kept crashing or just would take a long time from pressing the button to the light actually turning on. Lutron's app is solid and the devices respond instantly. They are generally speaking more expensive but the old adage, you get what you pay rings true in this case. ... show more

Love this system. Not cheap but was really easy to set up, program & works perfectly. Their tech support is open late & is very helpful (I always note this if applicable as I always seem to be working on stuff like this at odd hours). This hub will support up to 50 devices & is on a rarely used frequency so it doesn't fight with other wireless product & doesn't use your wifi (unless you're controlling it from away from home). Can't say enough good things about this series of products. Fun to be lazy & control your house using your iDevice without getting up. Great to be able to set or change things while away from home too. This kit was the most cost effective way to purchase their hub that I could find. Didn't think I'd use the two weighted Pico stands but they're great & I'll be ordering more. ... show more

I’ve tried a multitude of smart home devices and I’ve had the best consistent experience with Lutron over most (if not all) others. Highly recommend this if you’re looking for a solid and efficient smart home solution to control the lighting across your home. Havakng HomeKit control is a huge plus.

Does what it is supposed to: Works with HomeKit (after a lot of avoidable software frustration if they made an effort in onboarding), dims, has remote. Does not come paired (!!!) for the insane nearly $100 it costs. This leads to an agonizing time getting the hub and dimmer and control paired in their ****y software that assumes this is the first and only device on your network and in HomeKit. Awful and hard to use, and I'm a software engineer who could have eventually built it myself, I can't imagine anyone else suffering through it. I also resent the hub. An unnecessary dongle on my network and extra mouth to feed. But there are scant (read: two) HomeKit dimmers in the world. And it works. ... show more

    • Nothing "Smart" about this - Lutron has nerfed 3rd party automation SW access, this product is lame.

The hardware itself is nice, really wanted to like this. But, as with an unfortunate number of "smart home" products, the software _wrecks_ it. If you just want to control lamp sockets from your phone, buy some $20 WiFi plugs. Otherwise, go with Z-Wave products and don't waste your time or money on this. If you have hopes of using this in any useful way with "real" automation software, you're out of luck. Lutron appears hostile to developer efforts to integrate these products into real home automation systems - the only way to do this is via dorky cloud-based services (which are unreliable) OR somehow by becoming an "approved 3rd party developer" s.t. you can send commands directly to the hub. (According to the Internet, this was apparently possible at one time but Lutron has since taken steps to make this difficult, if not impossible. Why is that? Pure spite? Dunno, but I prefer not to give my cash to developer-hostile manufacturers). Addendum: The "PRO" version of this hub (which AFAICT is identical hardware, with firmware that is less arbitrarily kneecapped) appears to function *slightly* differently in this regard, but forum postings do not give me confidence and I don't plan on wasting another chunk of cash to find out. ... show more
