  • Worst product ever
Color: Black
Let me just start off by saying, I’m no noob to this. It’s not user error, and I’ve given it 6 months and it’s still trash. This is the worst product ever. I’ve had it since March and finally got the time to switch it back to a standard hue remote switch. This product is trash. You’re going to be pushing the buttons 3-4 times to get something to turn on, it’s not a delay, it just completely doesn’t work the first few presses. Press and hold? Just as useless. It’ll register the first press and hold if you’re lucky and then just seems to drop off and you’re left holding the button and the lights aren’t brightening or dimming at all. It’s really annoying and I finally figured let me write a review and save some people the trouble. I’ve been working with smarthome products since the start, and even phase 1 devices were better than this. This product is trash. You have been warned. Update August 2021: This product is still trash, and I still have it on my wall and fight with it every day. Just though "let me go write a review" and see I already did that - so this is just an update that nothing has changed and the seller never reached out to me. Stay away ... show more

  • PLEASE READ... Pertinent Info Provided
Color: Grey
Aside from the white switch, these are all RunLess switches in gray, with brushed nickel wall plates. It was hard to find a "smart switch" that fit into existing electrical box. I was wholly ready to get one with batteries (especially) if I could get a decora style switch and just deal with changing batteries sometimes. There were plenty of options out there that took batteries but would not fit a standard electrical box. A FEW that could- then I stumbled upon RunLess wire switches. They said (no batteries), I believe some type of kinetic energy supplied when you click the switch. To put it mildly,, I was highly dubious. Super small mounting depth - too good to be true. I ordered a couple and OMG!! UN- FREAKING - BELIEVABLE!!! I now have about 10 or so of these things. Will be adding another 15-20 as I expand my hue lighting throughout the house. I only have one switch that takes multiple attempts to work...and its the closest to the light it contros as well as my hue bridge, so I assume its defective. I will be contacting the company next week- we shall see how that goes. Anyway, AMAZING product!!!! You can have one single decora style rocker (I use these in areas that guests may use so they are not confused. You can program it to turn on one light, multiple lights, hold to dim or brighten (or make that setting adjusted however and whatever color you may want) with just one click. Now, you also have the option to have 2 rocker switches in the same decora space...now your possibilities are almost endless. Each direction on each rockerncsn control any light or lights you wish, then you have an option to hold down the rocker to perform another function. That's 8 controls, of any light or lights in your house. JUST AMAZING!! They also work flawlessly (with my one exception). If you're on the fence for any reason - forget it and get it. No-brainer. I'm a total techie and have seen nothing like this product. Oh, and by the way, the programming of each switch and whatever press or press and hold couldn't be any easier. I've purchased over $3k in tech gadgets over last couple months- this product from RunLess wire is far and away the best!! ... show more

  • Easy setup, inconsistent
Color: Black
Ok, so this may not be the worst product ever like the other reviewer said, but its definitely finnicky. In a spot where there is absolutely no way to run a wire its better than nothing. Just know that it doesn't work every time you click. I'm not totally sure how it works without a battery, but I think this is part of its downfall. Its relying on some kind of kinetic energy to click the signal through to the hue lights. Its kind of magical when it works, but I would have maybe preferred a battery enabled option that I have to replace once a year. The high price of this and the fact that it doesn't work consistently makes it a 3 star product for me. I'm still keeping it though because I need something and there is no way to wire. Its also a little thick. Install and setup is super easy. ... show more

  • More of a button, not a switch
Color: Black
Initially I loved this product. I loved that I could use it to turn in my hue bulbs while still maintaining switch like functionality. However over time the “stiffness” of the click has just become a pain. I installed one into a wall to be used as an actual switch but since it works more as a stiff button sometimes the lights don’t come on since the press wasn’t firm enough. Having the Aqara switch replace one of my other switches it is noticeably different. The Aqara switch is instantaneous and virtually hairline sensitive which means you never have to worry about applying enough pressure to toggle the status. If it weren’t for the fact that there is no other “switch like” option for turning hue bulbs on and off I would probably never deal with this product again. If the sensitivity of the “click” was more attune to an actual toggle switch this would get 10 stars ... show more

  • Not bad at all
Color: Black
Just installed one of four. Seems to work very well. Light on light off dim and brighten. Just sampled those four options and they work. As others have said it is a tad clicks but not terrible. I have used paddle switches with similar click. One thing I will mention. I wanted the single paddle at this location. I changed the switch to single before pairing it. That was a mistake. In order to pair you have to push several button that require the two paddle configuration. Not a big deal but save a minute and pair before going mono. Wish it was cheaper but if it lasts I’ll still be happy and it comes in black!!!! ... show more

  • Works well to control HomeKit Fan with Light
Color: Black
Very happy with this purchase. We got it set up in under 15 minutes and are using HomeKit to use the left side to turn the fan light on/off and the right side to turn the fan itself on/off. We are using it with a Hunter Symphony fan that we have had for about a year. I have a friend who is using it the same way. We use Alexa or the app if we want to change the fan speed, but sometimes you just want to have a wall switch. ... show more
