  • Great chair
I was hesitant because of other reviews stating that they received something different than what they had ordered, and it would be too much hassle and expense to return it. Fortunately, we got exactly what we ordered, and a few days earlier than expected. The chair works great and we’re looking forward to taking it on a cruise. We used it for an all-day trip, and the battery was still at 1/2 power at the end of the day. I highly recommend this powered wheelchair! ... show more

  • A tool that helps
I have severe osteoarthritis in my hip I also have a deformity in my ankle same side as the hip. I purchased this because this disability has been preventing me from going places even grocery shopping. I used it for the first time today we went to the mall it worked very well for me and the speed was perfect for my fast walking husband the battery kept a good charge. The chair is comfortable I am 5’5 and weigh 240lbs If you are tall like my husband 6’3 i recommend going to a mobility store and try them out before buying I finally have something that is helpful I don’t have to worry anymore about finding a place to sit because I am already sitting ... show more

  • Does not handle tight spaces well
Size: Model20
Doesn't handle nearly as well as the rear wheel turning chairs (hover round style). The turn radius is like an 18 wheeler. Not agile. Also the stopping isn't that great. Just about put my sweet old Dad straight through the living room wall. The biggest benefit of Bing able to hold it up and go to weddings or funerals etc. besides that, hard pass for me. ... show more

  • Overall a great chair, but would change a few minor things if we could
The media could not be loaded. My mom picked out this chair and had me order it for her. We were looking for something for her to get around theme parks a couple times a month since she's an annual passholder and her health and age don't allow her to walk very much on a good day. Yet we go too frequently to be renting every time. I help load ECVs onto busses daily at my job. So I'm very accustomed to managing scooters, maneuvering them through tight spaces and crowds, parallel parking them, etc. (Included is a photo of this chair on one of the busses I drive. It doesn't have any special spots for the hooks, but it still worked fine.) I was hesitant about her ordering a chair with a joystick controller because in my heavy ECV experience, those tend to be trickier to maneuver. And because of how it's built, it's not really possible for me to help my Guests when they're struggling to maneuver onto the bus or parallel park. Unless the user is fully chair bound and proficient, I watch the majority struggle to get situated. Since we've gotten this chair, I've ramped up my own skills in being able to maneuver the chair while sitting in it, while it's empty, and while my mom is in it. So I'm more confident and able to assist my guests next time one is struggling with this type of chair. My mom recently had surgery on her ankle. So we've used the chair to get her to and from the hospital and appointments. And she'll be using it much more heavily for several months as she recovers. It's been a lifesaver! All that said... there's a few things we've encountered worth noting. No particular deal breakers for us. But possibly worth considering when you're buying. My mom has said that for her the seat is not too comfortable for using very long. Prior to her surgery, at theme parks she would need to get up and walk periodically because the seat bothered her. Not sure how much of that is due to her health or the seat itself at I've never sat it in for more than a few minutes at a time. And I'm not so sure it's the seat itself or having to sit with her feet together or the way the arms sit to her sides or a combination of the above. The footrest is fairly small. Trying to keep both feet on it requires keeping your feet together the entire time. Which contributes to how uncomfortable it can get. Plus, it leaves your feet sticking out and exposed to being the first thing to ram into an object or wall if you are struggling to maneuver the chair around. That's a hazard for individuals who have no sensation in their feet and are prone to injuring themselves and not realizing it. (I used to live with a paraplegic, so that was a concern.) Plus, when you try to open or close it when the seat is occupied, you have to lift your legs all the way up because the footrest comes up right to under the seat. It's difficult for my mom on a good day. Since her surgery, I've had to help lift her legs to maneuver it. It's difficult for her to turn to the side when the armrest is up. And getting in and out of the car she doesn't have any space to do that at all. So I have to put the foot rest up before she approaches the car door for her to get up. The front wheels get stuck some times if you're trying to maneuver certain ways tightly. And when the chair is folded and in my car, the front wheels have to be pushed under to prevent the chair from wobbling around and knocking into anything when my car is moving. Unfortunately, my 78 year old mother was convinced by the advertising that she was going to be able to lift this chair into her vehicle. I'm half her age and fairly healthy, and that it's impossible for me. She realized immediately after seeing it she wouldn't be able to manage it. We ended up purchasing a set of ramps to get it in and out of our cars. We both own Corolla Crosses. And she didn't want either of us to attach a lift on the tailgate. I alternate which car it goes in, but it loads the same way in both and the ramps are collapsible and go into the car with the chair. I highly recommend them if you want a chair like this and to place it inside a vehicle. They're also great for bringing the chair into our house because our front door only has one little step up and it's a rental. So we don't want to attach anything permanently. When loading into the car, I fold the chair and then use the motor to "drive" it up the ramp while gripping the foot rest to keep the chair sitting parallel to the ground. Once in the car, I steer it to turn sideways to fit. It's a little tricky. And has resulted in a few scratches in the car. But I've gotten pretty good at it over time. The ramps, on the other hand, scratch up the car quite a bit inside. They do fit with the chair in the trunk, but it's tight and they scratch the car interior a lot. When using them to load the chair, they don't do any damage. The hardest part is just lining them up and keeping them even with each other so the chair can navigate them. We really wish this chair had a key of some sort. My mom does not stay in her chair for rides at the theme parks. Most ECVs have a key to prevent them from being stolen. This chair just has a button to turn it on and off. So we worry about it getting taken some times while we're away from it. I've added on bags and things to make the chair more useful. One attachment holds drinks. A larger bag on the back carries extra gear. The bag underneath that it comes with is decent, but not AS sturdy as the other things I've added on. I wouldn't put a lot of weight in it. And the flimsy mesh pockets under the armrests are somewhat useful, but very difficult to access and get things in and out of. Plus, they're pretty small. The arm rests are not well suited for attaching a phone holder. I have one that precariously grips the edge that sticks out a little where the joy stick can be attached on the other arm. It sorta works most of the time. So long as we don't bump into it. I put the remote in an eyeglass case to prevent accidentally pressing any buttons. Overall, we love this chair despite a few things we would adjust if we could. We have never really pushed the batteries to the limit, so I'm not sure how to rate them. I can reach them to remove them when the chair is folded in my car. It's not the easiest to reach and undo. But doable. I hope it's ok I've included a screenshot of the ramps we use so others can find them. ... show more

  • Rubicon dx14 issues

The Rubicon dx14 is definitely not an all-terrain vehicle as advertised. It definitely will not go up a 12° incline I have a slight section of my driveway that is about 3° and I have trouble getting up it. Also the braking system is not reliable you let off on the joystick and you go another two feet sometimes depending on where you're at before it'll stop it does work great on flat surface and in the store ... show more
