These seamless rectangular recycle bins are constructed of durable polyethylene with a hinged lid, integrated handle, inset wheels and are imprinted with the universal recycling symbol for increased waste management compliance. Heavy-duty polyethylene weighs less than aluminum or steel and resists cracking. The hinged lid open fully and locks against the trash/recycling bins. A molded-in axle retainer adds strength while inset wheels make the recycle bin maneuverable and help prevent damage to walls and doorways. A molded-in catch bar makes the trash/recycle bins compatible with automated and semi-automated lift systems for curbside garbage and recycling collection. This trash/recycle bin contains an ultraviolet (UV) stabilizer to help prevent fading and discoloring.

Rubbermaid has a 10 year warranty. It says "This recycle bin contains an ultraviolet (UV) stabilizer to help prevent fading and discoloring." It is a outdoor trash bin, yellow faded in 1 year, (warranty not included). I had Ordered on March 21, 2015. The cracks happened , last month, with normal used trash man. It is sturdy, moves around nicely on the wheels, and is big enough to hold quite a bit of refuse. My three star review is due to the fact of the three cans that I bought, two had badly scratched lids. Please see the photos that I uploaded. I understand that these are trash cans and are not meant to be pretty, but when I buy a new product, I think that I should get something that looks better than this. I did not request an exchange because of the size and bulk of these trash cans and the resulting hassle an exchange would cause. I would be wary about buying these if it would bother you if they came as damaged as two of the three that I ordered came. ... show more

If you have purchased any of the "Rubbermaid Commercial Brute HDPE 50-Gallon Rollout Trash Cans" you may notice that Amazon says that the "Husky Drum Liners, 55 Gal Clear" is "frequently bought together" with that trash can. For that reason I made that mistake of buying them together. That trash can liner does not fit in that trash can. If you try to stretch it over the top of the trash can, the liner rips. Instead get the "Tall 65 Gallon Black Trash Bags for Toter®, 50 Per Case" ... show more

This trash can seems sturdy and will function well to help my husband roll the can uphill on trash day. The reason that I did not give it 5 stars is because I feel there is a design flaw that Rubbermaid could have taken care to complete at the factory. There is a bit of "assembly" required. This is to use 2 screws to attach a small bracket over the axle. The problem was that in both of the cans I ordered, the screw hole was filled with the plastic material that the can is made of. The screws would not go in all the way on either of the cans and I feel that this is something that could just have been easily completed at the factory, eliminating my frustration and concern that the axle may pop out at a later date because it's not being held in properly. ... show more

I don't recommend this trash can. So I got it for my husband to replace the 20-year old trash can with the duct taped lid.He plans to use this new trash can to store bird seed in, because really, that is all it is suitable for. He asked what I paid for it, and was shocked at the price. So when the trash can was delivered, the shipper had place heavy things on top of the can, so the lid was crushed in. The can itself was much smaller than expected, and the V shape doesn't lend itself to stability for hauling it full of trash down the driveway. for $102 this can is not very durable. came without packaging. it only had a very thin layer of clear wrap around the lid. the top of the lid was dented in. i went to put my garbage in it and when i lifted the lid it was broke. a piece of plastic was missing so the hinge wasnt attached and it fell down. for that kind of money it should be able to take a beating. not worth the money. ... show more

I hate, hate, HATE touching the trash can lid while I am cooking. Disgusting. Nasty. You get the picture. This is a BIG 32 gallon (not quart, not liter - gallon) trash can with a foot pedal to lift the lid hands-free. It works great so far. This trash can is the best value I has been able to find across many internet sites. It is Rubbermaid - and it is built tough, including a very hefty metal trash lid lifting mechanism. It comes in four colors - grey, navy blue, a very bright canary yellow, and red (must be for bio-hazardous waste, I guess). I chose grey as a neutral color. Arrived early. Defective product lid not secured ,not boxed ame with ONE wheel only no way to secure, material appears sturdy , extremely disappointed . No bar to attach and should come FULLY assemble poor packaging
