I needed some primer that would have a bit more "fill" to it to use on 3D printed plastic parts. My goal was to try to cover up as much of the "print lines" as possible. I gave the Dupli-Color a try based on some suggestions I found around the web. I was impressed, and surprised, by the results. It worked way better than I had hoped, and with some other finishing steps has yielded parts that you can't even tell came off of a 3D printer. I know that this isn't really the intended use of this primer, but I wanted to review it anyway because it worked so well for me. The can sprayed evenly with no blotches or drips, and when used according to the instructions dried exactly as it should have. Great for 3D print post-production to get around hours of sanding. But make sure to use outside and with a spray paint rated ventilator - this stuff has got strong vapors!

Got some curb rash on some fine looking, black wheels. My better half did, anyway. The damage on several areas of the wheel varied from deep gouges to not so bad rash. Watched a You-tube on how to fix which recommended the primer, gloss black, and clear coats after hand sanding, and with a dremel for the deeper gouges. The primer is also a filler, and everything but the deep gouges filled nicely, the black covered and adhered nicely, as did the clear coat. Listen, the gouges in my heart may not have been totally removed, but the wheel now looks 99% better than it did. Thanx Dupli-color. ... show more

Use this to prime my medium to large 3D prints and it works amazing. Maybe just me but feels like less sanding. It definitely coats more evenly than my regular primer and let's me only do one take on priming rather than two. Just make sure to wear a good mask because even outside in the open air the scent can get to you. ... show more

    • Fan type adjustable spray tip!

Good filling capabilities and the spray tip is a must for any autobody/cycle painting etc.. The dry time is typical and sanding is EASY! I have ordered this product several times and the price here is by far the lowest I could find anywhere.

Painted my F-350 factory wheels with this color, 4-5 coats plus 3 coats of clear, and the dark silver looks superb on my silver truck. I even painted the Ford large plastic 8-lug center caps with this (after 3 coats of primer). Looks 1000 times better than the plain factory wheels!

    • Absolute Garbage in a can

Set your money on fire, at least you will be able to watch that burn, instead of wasting it on this stuff. This may be the absolute worst purchase I have ever made. I'm not a novice painter, not even close. This stuff is absolute crap in a can even if you follow the directions and are careful with temps and humidity. Will not cure, cannot be sanded and will leave you frustrated and needing to use extra time to fix the mess it leaves you with. The only good thing I can say is that it wipes off easily with acetone and a rag. I can't believe a company actually puts their name on the can. They should be too embarrassed with the poor quality of this junk. I've used many different primers over the years and have never had one fail this miserably before. In fact, I can't really recall ever having a primer completely fail. Save your money, buy anything else. I honestly cannot recall ever buying any product of any type that was as completely useless as this stuff. It is not just that it doesn't work, but you actually have to then remove it and go get something else to use anyway. We put yourself through the additional grief and frustration of wasted time and expense. Maybe I just got a bad can, but if that is the case then they have zero quality assurance for their product. ... show more
