The size seems oddly large vs more basic non-coated dumbbells. They work fine, seem well balanced and made. One arrived with damage to the coating, probably due to the carrier throwing or dropping the box on some sharp metal as it cut all the way through the coating. Function is unaffected by the damage from shipping. There was a very strong smell which remained for weeks, like the coating polymer takes a long time to off-gas. As I bought these during the first prime day 2024, the pair was almost 50% off so at that price it's a fantastic deal IMHO.

This is a great product for the price — the most affordable I was able to find anywhere. The quality is very good, although they do have a rubber odor when you take them out of the package. This got better once removed from the box for an hour or two. Sturdy chrome grip. Definitely worth the purchase!

I purchased two of these dumbbells, both 40-pounds. If you look at the image, you'll see that the one dumbbell absolutely dwarfs the other one. It's the same size as a typical 55 or 60-pound dumbbell. The last thing you want is to be lifting two dumbbells that are two totally different dimension, with two different balance points. It isn't safe. Not only that, but when a company advertises a product and you buy multiple (particularly something like dumbbells,) you expect that they will be the same. Some reviews also mentioned the poor quality of the rubber and how it started ripping apart almost immediately. I'd recommend spending an extra $10 or $20 and getting a set of dumbbells that match and are better constructed. This is a garbage product and I wouldn't want it for half the price I paid. I'd still feel ripped off and overcharged. These dumbbells should be pulled from the site immediately.
