French Home set of 4 Laguiole steak knives and 4 matching forks with Faux Black Onyx handles have excellent Stainless Steel blades that cut through steak with ease. The thickness of the blade is 1.8mm, thicker than most blades while the forks are a great complement to the knives. Both fit comfortably in your hand and are perfect for everyday or special occasion use. They come in an attractive box making them the perfect gift. I really like these except for the handles. They are curved at the end. Seems as though the forks are made for a left handed person. Using the fork to cut something is awkward as a righty. The handle on the knives are the same but anatomically correct. They would be better off straight in my opinion And that weird piece between the handle and utensil, that looks like a lock or as if it moves, broke off on one fork. Used it a handful of times Besides that the knives are sharp af and that’s the main reason I got this set ... show more

i was excited to get these pieces to my original collection... unfortunately the quality was very low... Especially the knifes. THey look great in the photo...but... i returned them. Besides, the tip of the knifes was chipped... Sad.

I was so excited when I got this set of 4 French Design steak knifes with matching forks. They were a gift for my birthday. They came in attractive, elegant packaging that spoke quality. I had wanted a good set of steak knives for several months now, but wasn’t liking local department store options. These knives far exceed what I was looking to purchase for myself! They do not just have a beautiful design, but are nicely weighted with an ergonomic feel, and they cut like a dream. They are also dishwasher safe. What I like most about the knives that the blades are sharp and made from quality stainless steel. Not only that, but the blade isn’t simplynpieced onto the handle; it actually runs the length of the handle (see image below). This makes them even more durable. I also love the Laguiole bee emblem on both the knives and forks. The metal bee emblem is more than just for decoration, to distinguish this type of steak knife from others. It serves a genuine purpose. You use it to brace your finger and for leverage, when holding down and when cutting meat. Very handy. BTW – I was intrigued by the emblem, so researched and discovered that this style of knife was designed in the early 1800s (1829, to be exact) by Jean-Pierre Calmels, who was a blacksmith in the village of Laguiole. The bee design signifies the small town of Laguiole, located in southern France. French Home Laguiole steak knives are not only revered for their quality, elegant appearance, and usability. As I understand it, they are also one of the 3 most well-known knife factories in France. This might sound silly, but knowing these details makes using the steak knife set an even more enjoyable experience. As mentioned before, the blades of the knives are very nice quality. They are impressively sturdy, and cut through meat with little effort. Hands down the best steak knives I have ever used, let alone owned! The matching forks are also very nice. I had never had matching steak knives and forks before. I love this set of steak knives. They are comfortable to hold, easy to use, and so attractive that I can’t wait to use them when company comes over. Not only will they make cutting grilled or thick pieces of meat nearly effortless, but they will dress up the table, and add a touch of class - making the meal feel even more special. ... show more
