  • Great Product
I’ve used these for awhile now and they are by far my favorite product. I despise that they are not easy to find in tile stores but that doesn’t take away from them. I’ve learned they snap best in the direction of the grout line and using a mallet or a solid boot. It you try and break them against the grout line, they don’t break nicely! I bought this package and was able to complete a full long bath floor, a large landing area (basically two more average bath floors in sqft maybe a little more) and two complete walls around 42 sqft in a small shower. They certainly are worth it, just sucks that they are 1 and done. The spinners you can obviously keep if you choose to unspin the broken tail from. But $30+ per box avg can be pricy if not accounted for properly in a job. If you’re DIY - I recommend this for sure, it’ll give you great results with no extra tools to clamp. Super simple to install and use. ... show more

  • ... these to tile a wall and they did a great job of helping to level and keep the tiles ...
Bought these to tile a wall and they did a great job of helping to level and keep the tiles level on the wall of 6x8 area. It also helped to make the job easier and would highly recommend this product. I have tiled before with out using this product and was a lot more work to get things to come out level. I ordered this kit to do this tile job for my brother, who was having a fit with spending the money for this kit. After doing the wall and having it turn out so well, we started to tile the floor. I was not going to use the spin doctor on the floor since he had such an issue with spending the money on this. But as soon as we started to lay the floor he, asked if we are not going to us the spin doctor on the floor. I told him no because he did not think we needed to us them in the beginning. He then told me that he wanted to use them on the floor any way. I even got an apology from him and was told that the spin doctor was a great product to work with and was very helpful in doing the job!!!! Great Product!!! Had a hard time deciding on what width to buy. I bought the 1/16 for the wall. Then we used 1/8 spacer with the spin doctor on the floor to have a 1/8 inch grout line on the floor. This worked well. !!! ... show more

  • Helped Avoid Lippage on Wood Look Tiles
I bought this system to help me avoid lippage (i.e., achieve a flat tile surface) on some 6 x 36-inch wood look tiles I was laying in a 12 x 18-foot room. The tiles were going in a repurposed room and the floor was relatively level, but had some uneven (high & low) areas. So I decided to give this system a try. I back-buttered the tiles to help compensate for any uneven areas, but this also meant that mortar would occasionally seep into the grout joints. I learned that, where mortar seeped around the plastic base, it was hard to remove if I allowed the mortar to fully cure and become rock hard. The trick is to give the mortar time to setup, but not fully cure in order to successfully knock the plastic bases out cleanly. In my experience, giving the mortar 6-10 hours of cure time was sufficient to stabilize the tiles (i.e., they were not going to shift), yet the mortar was still slightly pliable, so when I knocked out the plastic bases, they separated cleanly. Once removed, I could scrape any excess mortar out of the grout joints. I also discovered that the tiles often shifted when I screwed down the caps due to friction between the caps and the tile surface. To compensate, I would screw down the caps about 80% tight, then use a mallet to knock the tiles up tight against each other to ensure the grout joint was consistently 1/16-inch. Then I would finish tightening the caps. I might give the tiles a final tap with the mallet just for good measure! I'm certainly no tiling expert, so using this system definitely helped me achieve a decent tile job. Anyone that has worked with wood-look tiles knows how difficult it can be to avoid lippage given the tendency of those tiles to crown slightly in the middle. But this system gave me a fighting chance and IMO achieved great results. I'll be using this system again to redo my bathroom. ... show more

  • It helps a lot
Pros. It works well to keep everything tight and level. Cons. The stems do not break off as easy as the videos show. I spent a lot of time breaking them off with a pillers one by one.

  • Good product, missing pieces.
Box came without 100 clear shields that were supposed to be in the kit.

  • Great Tile Tuning System
This is my favorite tile tuning system on the market. Easy to use as long as you are installing tile with the proper notch trowel to achieve the correct mortar thickness.
