The machine works great. The texture of the ice is somewhat fine (not as fine as shave ice) but works great for homemade deserts. The only complaint is that it is a little messy while in use. Some ice misses the provided bowl and you will end up with some water on the counter. This is easily solved by placing a towel under the machine while using. ... show more

Compared to the other grinders I've used for parties this one does well enough (although nowhere near the 440lbs/hr claimed in the description)... at least until the motor gets hot enough to crumple the metal housing. It took us about 2hrs of grinding for the heat damage in the above pic to start being visible. Currently the only vent the unit has is on the bottom and the clearance provided by the feet on the base doesn't allow for much airflow even here. I'm giving this a 3-star review since the motor and blades are solid enough - just if the manufacturers can place a vent/fan on the top of the metal housing (approximately where the heat starts to soften the metal of the housing) I suspect it will largely remedy the overheating issue. An overheat/temperature cutoff would likely be prudent as well. ... show more

Got this to make my daughter and I boba popping pearl drinks. It was cheaper to make at home and this works amazing for it. I wish the bowl was further from where the snow comes out, but rotating the bowl helps. This grinds up the ice perfectly.

100% worth buying. Everyone loves it. Kids get snowcone or slushies, adults get frozen "adult beverages" multi-use and fantastic for parties or everyday use during the summer. Only complaints are the spout where the ice comes out doesn't angle and the bowl to catch doesn't fit. Also the blade continues to spin when opened to add more ice even when safety switch is lifted to stop it. ... show more
