I like the length (it comes to the tips of my fingers with arms resting at sides) and the fit. The hood is fine and removable. Southern girl here so I had to buy a coat for a trip north. I got this one because it was longer than waist length but not too long and it folds up pretty compact and can fit in a backpack. Temps were in the mid 40s to low 50s. I had layers on underneath and my upper body was warm. I don’t think it kept below my waist warm as my backside and upper legs were still cold. The hood does not have a drawstring so it easily blew off in the wind. It rained (constant misty rain) and the cost kept me dry. Every so often I’d brush off the water that had accumulated in the coat. Water did not soak through. It rolls up nicely but I did practice a few times before the trip. It has zip pockets but they are not in the right place for comfortably keep your hands in them. There are also pockets inside the jacket but they are small and don’t have a zip or snap. This is perfect for my needs, which are walking the dog in southern winters & an occasional sporting event. Temps tend to be mild 40s-50s. I don’t think it’d be the best for extreme cold temperatures. Might be fine for upper 30s-40s with good base layers. The length keeps me warmer.
