My hairdresser, who is from India and has some very fine silk clothing, highly recommended the Rowenta steamer. I decided to pick one up, and have had an excellent experience with it. Now, instead of taking shirts to the dry cleaner, I put them in the steam refresh cycle in my dryer, and then use the Rowenta to take out the remaining wrinkles. We also used the Rowenta to take out creases in a tablecloth we had just purchased, and it took them out effortlessly. I still have my old-school iron, but with this Rowenta, I never use it any more. LOVE the long electrical cord! Nice size. My wife is tiny. It was a little heavy for her but worked very well. She didn’t use it very often…a few items of clothing, some curtains she made, etc. That’s about it. Never dropped it. Pulled it out to use it recently, filled it with water, installed the tank, pressed the power button, power and delicate light up blue, power flashed for about forty seconds then stopped flashing, pulled the trigger and…nothing. The head is very hot. Apparently the water may not be flowing. We cleaned it after five uses. It still worked after that. It’s dead, Jim. Very disappointed. I’m the type of person who does not care what something costs. I don’t always get the best but I purchase good quality. We had a commercial standing unit purchased on Amazon. Worked fantastic. We could steam out dents on the car. ;-). (Just kidding.) Then we downsized our home. We gave it away and purchased this. Obviously I made a mistake. Bummer. I am guilty as everyone. I post reviews after I’ve used something for maybe a week. But I realize that’s a mistake so often I wait a year or two. Still would not have helped in this situation but you get my point. ... show more

I found this steamer a bit heavy to hold for an extended time period (until the steam stopped steaming). It is MUCh too heavy to pack in a suitcase, so I’ll use it only at home. It did not take out my wrinkles as well expected, maybe because the attachment with brushes in it does not stay on very well and I kept having to reattach it (without getting burned). Nevertheless, It did an adequate job on a plain a-line linen dress with sleeves. I trust that with more practice I will get better at using it. (if only that brush attachment would stay on...) ... show more

I like this steamer because it’s pretty powerful ! It’s not really made for travel if that’s what you’re looking for because of its heaviness. Takes approximately 40 seconds to start up. Been using it for a few weeks now and overall it’s a pretty good steamer , no problems !
