I used to get the wrinkles out of some curtains that I bought and it worked really well. Then I tried it on a blouse or two and it worked well as well. My only complaint is that the reservoir for the water is so small that you can really only get through one garment at a time before having to refill it. However, I understand that if it were a bigger reservoir, it would also be heavier to hold. Holding it to steam out a curtain or two does start to wear on my wrist but it was totally worth the effort. If you’re going to use it to steam clothing, I suggest you get the pad that hangs over the back of the door in your bathroom so that you don’t ruin your bathroom Door with the steam coming through. Great steamer, heats up fast and steams garments very well! I did run into an issue when I tried to use it for the first time. I plugged in the steamer and let it heat up, and once it was ready, I pressed the ‘Steam’ button but nothing was happening. I could tell the steamer was hot and I had filled the tank properly, however no steam was coming out. I called the Conair helpline and the rep was super helpful and informed me of what I needed to do to get it to work, and I was able to get it working in 5 min! If you run into this problem, here is what you need to do: - plug in steamer and ensure the water tank is full - allow it to heat up and when it lights up red to let you know it’s ready, press the ‘Steam’ button - then turn the entire steamer upside down, and hold it that way for a bit - flip it back and forth, sideways and upside down, to help loosen the air bubble that is blocking the steam - you should eventually here it trying to work, keep holding it upside down and flipping it around (carefully), and the steam will soon come out! ****hope this helps!! :) ... show more

I only gave this item 3 stars because it did not work well enough to steam the wrinkles from my drapes. The unit is well made, love how fast it heats up but I mainly bought to steam my curtains and after filling the water cup many, many, many times and going over the same area for 20 minutes, did not do a good job. I did a lot of research on handheld units and this did seam to have the best reviews but it did not work well for my curtains. I finally got most the wrinkles out after 6 hours of steaming but the bigger wrinkles you can still see. I would recommend this for clothes, it is a great steamer and I will keep it but unfortunately will have to bring in my drapes in to have professionally steamed. ... show more

The first one I ordered, the box had clearly been opened and re-taped. I believe it was a previous return and when tested, would not create steam. A return was initiated and I ordered a replacement which works just great.

As the title reads, it works well, safe on most materials you would throw in a suitcase, and the best part is that it’s dual voltage! It is a little bulky, and for the steamers size the reservoir is a little small. We took it to Europe, flipped the switch on the bottom, and grabbed the right adapter - bang! We were off and running. I bought this because it has two steam vents on the face. Provides more steam area. I have several jersey knit dresses which are nightmares to iron. This steamer blasted through the wrinkles and was easy to use. It took me a while but it was my first try so I guess I'll get faster at it. Then I tried on a rayon blouse I dreaded ironing that was sitting in the "to iron" pile forever. NO JOKE - wrinkles came out instantly. This also works EXTREMELY well on gathered or puckered sleeves. You can also use this in conjunction with a conventional iron. I hate ironing the shoulder portion of cotton shirts. I used the steamer on the shoulder section of a cotton shirt then finished it with an iron. That also worked well. As other reviewers said, it's a little heavy but that's because it's SOLIDLY made. You'll have to fill the water reservoir a few times. With 1 filling I was able to to 2 dresses and 1 blouse. I don't see this as a problem. With all the low quality junk out there, I'm happy to get a QUALITY product. ... show more

Lots of travel steamers out there. Only a few steamers can work at both 110/220v. Not the strongest steam, but enough for most garments. Does not spill. Use distilled water. Our hard water left white residues after one use on the steamer. Also don't use on jeans (Obviously, the heat and steam transferred the dye on the steamer)! ... show more

I purchased this for an overseas trip and it did not disappoint. It's very easy to use. But BE AWARE that it takes a good deal of brute force to pull out the water tank. If it's not coming out, nothing is wrong. Be sure to pull from the bottom of the tank and pull very, very hard. Once you've got it out and filled it up, congrats! The hard part is over; from here it's just pressing buttons. The steam is both powerful and consistent, more so than a good number of large yet erratic steamers that I've used in the past (you know who you are). This one is my go-to at home instead. One of the drawbacks, as you can probably tell from all the other reviews, is that the water tank is rather small. A single full tank can probably last for about one dress (or t-shirt & shorts combo). The steamer itself is surprisingly heavy, so after a while your hand might ache a little. Of course, if you're using it for one or two pieces for travel this isn't that big a deal for you. To Recap: A good buy, very effective, and worth the price, though I've yet to see how long it lasts. ... show more
