I absolutely love this iron. I sew every single day and I keep this iron on my table right next to my sewing machine. My favorite thing about this iron is that it doesn’t turn off after a 8 minutes. If you sew or quilt, you know how annoying it is to need to press something only to find a cold iron. The size of this iron is perfect for my hands and it’s not heavy! It gets nice and hot and removes all wrinkles. . The steam is fantastic. Some people think the water tank is too small, but this is a small travel iron and shouldn’t be expected to hold a ton of water. I just keep a bottle of water on my table and refill as needed. I also use a WorkLion pressing mat that is fantastic with this iron. I almost didn’t order this iron because I dislike the color so much. However, it’s not so purple in person and I can can live with it. Update August 2026…broke after 7 months. The handle is plastic and it just snapped. I like the iron so much that I purchased a second one. Unfortunately, the handle on that one broke in less than 2 weeks. Quality isn’t what it used to be. So sad.

my opinion, the truth, no pictures, use your imagination. 1. Skeptical because of review displaying a broken wan (handle) and the Cord being (looked to me like) torn out of the unit. The review, the handle would not stay upright, hmm, why is the cord torn out. And all the time the review was the unit broke itself. 2. Received my unit today. Delivered by USPS, the package/parcel was banged up/dented. but once opened the unit was intact. Small prayer of thanks. 3. The handle. I lifted mine up, robust click and it stayed up. I put a small amount on the handle it would not go down. I eyed the unit and at the back of the unit and oversized button that reflected the word "PUSH" i did and then the hand dropped to the down position. 4. It then dawned to me the review about the broken handle was the cause of a "Heavy Handed" I don't read instructions person. A pile of pressure and snap the plastic hinge breaks, the handle will not stay in the upright position, and the unit was then flung through the air by holding the cord which became detached. 5. A bad review was written, but the true explanation of events was not. 6. I took my unit to the ironing board, plugged it in filled with 60ml of "DISTILLED" water (bad water at my home). The Unit heated properly, produced steam properly and I did my micro ironing (advent calendar, all pieces hand cut, ironed, and sewn) and the unit ironed perfectly. 7. This iron is a KEEPER. Also, it was sold by Amazon, so therefore-my Prime Membership resulted in a two day delivery. (I'm surprised it arrived on time.) 8. There you have it. Treat your stuff nicely, follow instructions and your merchandise will last a long time.

I bought this cute, purple Rowenta First Class iron to replace my previous Rowenta Latitude which broke. They are very close to the same size. I really enjoyed the old one so much that it was an easy decision to replace it with a similar one. (I learned that if you exert too much pressure on the handle, that it could break. Oops.) This iron is sold as a travel steam iron not only because of its compact size, but it has a switch for your choice of 120 or 240 volts. A press of a button on the handle allows the iron to fold and be tucked away in its travel pouch. It offers vertical steam, although I haven’t had the occasion to try it out. At 1000 watts on 120 volts AC, this lightweight iron is just what I need to iron quilt blocks as I sew them. This is my main use for this iron. The only thing I’m not fond of is the temperature selection dial. It’s inconveniently located under the handle. Not a dealbreaker, I still love my little iron and would recommend it to anyone.

What a fantastic, little gadget, that any if not every, frequent traveler, who cares about their business attire and/or special events clothing being used at attended events and such, - just aught to carry along for that added peace of mind. A great brand in the pro-iron industry too. This travel model is dual-voltage too and very compact. Yet feels sturdy. You' ll appreciate it's ultra-smooth chrome-ish/mirror-finish stainless steel bottom plate that's just phenomenal at disbursement of steam through its extra-wide coverage area. I've had other brands and style and in my honest unpaid opinion, this is the letter hands down! Should you be in the market for said item - buy with confidence. Now the negative here for me anyways - it doesn't come in black or silver in this wattage nor another and for a guy purple just isn't up there in my favorites but it is quite handy nonetheless.

Exceeds my expectations! Light weight and sturdy; I don't foresee any handle breakage; it is locked in and should not require any hard hand pressure for wrinkle release, just guidance. I initially bought this after my previous "mini" steam iron was recalled and failed after one year; leaking all over my work table. This Rowenta "travel iron" has been used a lot for quilting and clothes making. It is light and maneuverable enough for my granddaughter to learn on with guidance vs. my normal sized Rowenta. I have not traveled with it... It does require filling frequently due to it's tank size, but that is to be expected. Description says that tap water may be used -- I would like to state for the record that tap water of any kind is NEVER used in any iron that I have owned. I have only used DISTILLED bottled water and I do not empty it out after each use. Tap water will contain minerals and/or chemicals for purification and will increase the risk of white mineral build up from the steam holes and internal damage to an iron. I have never had any leakage in any of the 4 irons I have owned in my life time -- except for the recalled one that was defective (My first one in 1972 is still going strong, but a little too heavy for me now). In my opinion, the small price of distilled water outweighs the risk of iron damage. My absolute favorite quality of this product (unlike the non-compact version), is that it does NOT have auto-shut off after a few moments of non use. You must unplug it to turn off. In my experience with the Rowenta Focus Excel Iron, Standard, when in the middle of piecing quilt parts and sewing clothing, it is extremely annoying for the iron to shut off while I am sewing and ironging multiple pieces in succesion and have the iron shut off -- having to wait for it to "wake up" befpre proceeding to the next step. While this safety shut-off feature may be prevelant in today's retail setting, I as the user must bear some responsibility and unplug it after use. Thank you Rowenta for having this no shut-off option on this iron.

I had high hopes for this Rowenta Travel Iron, expecting the quality the brand is usually known for, but I was quite disappointed. As someone who travels frequently, a reliable compact iron is essential, and unfortunately, this one didn't meet my needs. Firstly, the heating was inconsistent. It took a long time to heat up, and even on the highest setting, it struggled to remove wrinkles from basic cotton shirts. I found myself going over the same areas repeatedly, which was frustrating and time-consuming, especially when trying to get ready in a hotel room. The "Pro Compact" design is indeed small and lightweight, which is a plus for packing. However, the small size also translates to a tiny soleplate, making ironing larger items like dresses or pants quite tedious. Another issue I encountered was with the steam function. It was weak and sporadic, barely making a difference in tackling stubborn creases. I even followed the instructions carefully regarding water levels, but the performance didn't improve. Overall, while the portability is a selling point, the lackluster heating power and ineffective steam function make this Rowenta Travel Iron a poor choice for anyone who needs reliable wrinkle removal on the go. I ended up having to rely on hotel irons anyway, defeating the purpose of bringing my own. I would not recommend this product.
