So far so good. New install, it's only been operating for a day, but Install was straightforward, instructions pretty good and it is working great. It is quite a pain to make the plenums, and I wish there was a product made for easier transitions for intake/exhaust air, but it is what it is. I used this as a central unit for a townhome. It feeds 3 stories, has adequate CFM to get the air everywhere it needs to go. The 18000 BTU unit arrived in very substantial packaging with no damage. Having installed this about a week ago, positives are: The electrical cables are labeled 1 through 3 + ground, and fortunately the labels are at both ends and on both the indoor and outdoor unit, so it's pretty hard to get the wiring wrong between the indoor and outdoor. The removable flange on the return side of the unit is nice, because it makes it much easier to build the return plenum (it would be. nice to have a similar feature on the output side). The indoor and outdoor units are absurdly quiet, with a bit of turbulent flow caused by my amateur plenums and ducts dominating the still very moderate noise (inaudible at less than the max fan setting). I have to see the fan moving on the outdoor to confirm it is running, because it is basically inaudible above the ambient noise in my quiet neighborhood. Finally, having installed another mini split that was not as well thought out, I appreciated preinstalled rubber grommets where electrical connections go into the outdoor unit, and 3 available condensation drain locations on the indoor unit so installation is flexible. I like that they included a low gravity drain option for those of us that do not need to use the condensation pump. Negatives: There are no adequate transition pieces in the kit from the drain outlets to the condensation drain tubing they included. This is frustrating, as you have to make up a solution to end up with a sealed connection to the drain. Also, it seems to be common that makers of these concealed duct units do not sell plenum kits, and it would be nice to have an an extra-cost option for those of us that need to install somewhere other than a soffit. Fabricating my plenums to fit the unit was a complete nuisance, and consumed at least 50% of the install time for me. ... show more
