The assembly was so easy. I put this together in 15 minutes for my mom. All I had to do was use the included Allen key wrench to put on two bolts per leg then had someone help me flip the table over to stand upright, done! It looks so good with her black and silver dining chairs. I did not notice any defects. This table is gorgeous. Put together in a snap. Very sturdy. I have had a few months and have had small grandkids even sitting on this table with no give at all. The top of the table is very pretty. Hot pots placed on the top are no problem - no burning or scorching this table (although I don't do this all the time). It is not as wide as a regular table (just a tad) and this just fits beautifully in my small kitchen. No problems with shipment either - no chips or scratches at all. I love this table and got a good price too. What a find. Everyone who sees it loves it. :) UPDATE: 2020 It has been two years now that I have had this table. I have had no issues at all. Table has been moved back and forth and rearranged quite a few times a year, but the legs are still strong, stable and holding up well. No nicks or chips either and believe me this table is really getting a beating from my family. I looked over quite a few tables before I picked this one and I am so glad I did wait. The table comes expertly packed, It almost completely preassembled. All one needs to do is attach the four legs. The four steel legs are fastened on to the tabletop by 8 screws and their associated washers. The mounting hardware is supplied along with the necessary hex tool. The all-steel frame is sturdy and can hold considerable amounts of weight. the top is cover by a faux marble finish that looks real enough, No one would guess with any certainty it is not real marble. We just remodeled our kitched/living room, took out a wall and we just needed a small nice looking table, and I didn't want another wood table top and this goes with our decor so nicely. I actually laugh because I was so used to having a big bulky table and this is small...it fits four of us just fine. My husband is 6'2 and has no problem sitting at this table.
