These things are well built and do the trick as far as getting your heart rate up, especially if you work them in-between body weight exercises like push-ups or pull-ups. They’re also great to use as a stand alone way of getting a solid cardio session in whenever you need to. This provides for a killer workout for the entire upper body. Also woks your core. It takes a bit of practice to achieve 10 or more minutes of exercise endurance. You can also use it simulate jumping rope.

The spring would slide out of the handles, and the wrist straps didn't fit over my hands. If I could keep the weighted springs from sliding out of the handles, I would've kept it.

Before swinging these things around wildly, there was one thing I absolutely had to know. And that is about safety. I wanted to know how these parts are attached and if there is any potential for anything to fly off accidentally. So I took it apart to take a look. It turns out that each 'battle rope' is simply a single high-quality, painted, 17" long spring. The top end cap is some form of rubber that is friction fit onto the end. And the handle itself is also a rubber material that is friction fit onto the spring. What holds it together is the plastic endcap, which is threaded and screwed onto the spring. So with the way this is assembled, it's safe to say that you can swing them around and get all the cardio you need without worrying about it falling apart or springs flying off and hitting things. As a side note, if you don't like the rubber feeling and want something closer to rope, you can actually just take the handle off and hold the spring itself, or wrap it with something else.
