This WildFinder hardtop tent feels solid and well-make, adding more space on the car roof when camping and road trips. It is located on the roof of my ford edge, making it easier to set up when i arrive the camping site. By having the solid leather design, this tent will well protected when closed and storage. Once set up, the interior is much comfortable than normal tent. It can make me feel safer, because the tent can stay high enough away from the ground, especially when camping in wet, or uneven terrain areas. The installation processes is straightforward, you just need to put the tent on the racks of the roof. Once it is mounted, the is a great relief not to have to find a flat place to pitch a tent. The space is designed well enough to provide a good airflow and a comfortable living space. It can also provide a good morning view when you wake up in a beautiful park, making the experience much better. Based on the size and the weight, it will be easier to step up with help of another person. the WildFinder roof tent is an excellent choice for camping, cross-country travel, or anyone who enjoys long-distance hiking. I like the combination of study design, nice interior and convenient features. This product will add more camping experience to the next level.

We are very happy with this tent. It is extremely easy to set up - maybe about 3 minutes to set up. It is roomy enough for two people, has lots of options and is flexible. It is pretty much perfect and you can even leave your pillows and bedding on it while collapsed and stored. It's fairly easy to take back down also, but does require two people to make sure it collapses perfectly, quickly. It CAN be done with one person but that makes it difficult. The only thing that I feel like could be improved is the ladder. While it supports a 200lb person just fine, I am worried about the dust making it hard to collapse later to store and I wish it felt a bit more sturdy going up and down. It's not bad, don't get me wrong, but it could be excellent. I also like the fact that you can attach the ladder at different points and that it comes with accessories to hang off the side etc. It really is a great design in my opinion. This was by far the best value for the money. For rock-crawlers note that this does add a bit of weight to the top, so you need to reevaluate how you drive certain obstacles, but it did not impede our journey.

Have used this tent now in a variety of conditions from summer heat to winter cold and I am very pleased. Stood up to 35-40 mph wind gusts during a rough storm with no leaks or damage. The blackout lining is incredible. With the tent fully zipped it is pitch black inside even in direct sunlight. When using diesel heater it retains heat very well. It’s easy to get on and off my 4Runner with help. Setup and take down are quick and easy alone. With the rain fly that extends on 3 sides it performs better in adverse conditions than more expensive options that my friends own.

Edit: the seal along the edge of the tent when in its collapsed position is entirely worthless. I am very careful to tuck the tent in nicely and as cleanly as possible, and this thing refuses to seal. Every time it rains I have to set up the tent, pull the mattress, and let everything dry out. I am super disappointed. Save your money for a higher quality tent unless you want to spend a bunch of time drying out a tent on your weekends. First and foremost, I did not receive a discount for this review, I paid full price for this tent. My opinion is that of a normal consumer. If you have watched YouTube reviews of this tent, they all say almost the same things, and I believe a few of the reviewers talk about getting the product for free. This is an unbiased review. I took this tent to Montana in Mid-September. Temps at night averaged 32-40°F. Winds ranged from 45mph to 0mph. 6 nights with no prior testing or demo. Pros: - Taller than expected. I was pleasantly surprised with the room available to move around and change. - Integrated light is convenient. It’s nice to be able to bring a 10kwh battery bank and run the light for 3 evenings. (About an hour and a half of total output from a 10kwh battery bank. Setting was “low” “natural” light. I don’t need much light for my nightly routine, and about half an hour of low light to unwind each night was nice. I also hang my own LED lantern inside the tent as well, it’s easier to use in the middle of the night than the built in LED’s the way I route the wires. - Wall material is thick and seems durable. - Held up nicely to high winds. Spent the evening at ~40°F, with 35-45mph winds, and moderate rain. The walls made some noise, but it was never too loud to sleep. - Sets up in about 10 minutes. Setting up is easier than tearing down. I have a tote bag with everything I need up in the tent, and I just toss that up before setting up the rain fly. There isn’t much else to set up. I personally use an additional sea to summit 1.5” self inflating foam pad, and so that takes about 2 minutes to unroll and inflate. - Cozy for 1, would be tight with two. Cons: - Finishes are poor in several areas - Ladder isn’t as stable as I’d like. My ladder collapses on itself while closing it up. It’s hard to explain, but I am very suspect of the locking mechanisms in the ladder. A couple of my rivets in the ladder are also suspect (misaligned hole with rivet, and a rivet that was definitely ground down by a hand grinder?) - Vapor/condensation barrier is mostly useless. Condensation in the morning is just a reality of this tent. I slept with the side windows unzipped about 1/5th of the way unzipped, and had the large rear upper window unzipped and open, and I woke up soaking wet every morning. The only morning I didn’t wake up soaking wet was the night I had winds of ~40mph, which moved air through the tent very well. I feel like unzipping the windows too much more really reduces privacy inside the tent. I personally like to feel that my tent is my space. - The light switch in my tent is faulty. It doesn’t light up entirely like it is supposed to, and sometimes I have to jiggle the wires to make the light work properly. The lights would be easy to upgrade, but I don’t really think you should have to on a $1,400(including taxes) tent. - Length is barely suitable for someone 6’1”. My feet regularly touched the end of the tent, which isn’t terrible, but I found myself putting puffy layers in my sleeping bag foot box to help insulate against the cold aluminum wall. - Spring poles for rain fly are going to wear out. I used this for 6 nights and I already noticed that the spring poles were taking a bit of the curve of holding the canopy out. I suppose they can be replaced eventually. - Must park on a level spot. You need to be sure to park in a level area or be ready to drive onto 2x4’s to level out your vehicle. I took this elk hunting in Montana for a week and it was very inconvenient to try to find level places to park and camp for an evening. - Seal on bottom edge is poor, need to fix that. The seal along the edge of the shell when collapsed is poor at best. Half my tent has a gap around the edge. After driving through the rain, my tent was wet when I went to set up that night. It also means I cannot leave the tent on long term between trips. The tent would get moldy. - The fiberglass rod is not sewn in on the back window. The way the back window is laid out, a fiberglass rod helps secure the back window down, and mine is not sewn in, so it wants to slide out. It’s an annoying thing more than a functional issue, but again, it’s a $1,400 tent… so maybe it should be properly finished? This is probably not a great deal on a tent for a list price of $1,299. I really liked the concept, it was nice to be up off the ground, it was admittedly cozy for one person, but it just failed in areas that I really cared about. The big dealbreakers for me are the poor seal on the bottom of the tent shell and the horrible condensation. I really wish I had known those two things were going to be issues, it would have impacted my decision to purchase the tent. I would consider options for sale on your local marketplace websites. See what the used market holds, and maybe you could get a better deal. I wish I could recommend this tent, it’s an awesome concept, it just needs work. The mattress it comes with is crap. You may as well take it out when it arrives and sleep in the shell. Im 155lbs and I sink right through it. Slept on it 4-5 times in the last year that we have had it. The usb cord on the light could use a little extra length. Would have been nice if the company thought out the possible need of running cords/wiring between the vehicle and the unit. No access points. Haven't dug into drilling it yet. Ease of set up is great. Taking down and tucking the tent is the hardest part but easily doable. The interior blocks out roughly 95% of light. Holds condensation on the interior way to well. Make sure you leave a window open. Ladder is sturdy. Great unit terrible cheap mattress.
