Been with Roku for a while. Overall good products. I think that TCL makes these for Roku which is a good deal because the last TCL TV I had lasted 10 years before finally dying on me. Easy to set up. Easy to get the apps on the channel list so you can watch your shows. Sound quality via internal speakers I didn't do because I have roku branded externals. Remote is definitely an upgrade from my old one. Full on 4K. Works well. Screen is really bright, I had to tone it down some for my comfort. This 55-inch Roku Select Series TV has been a great buy and I’m very happy with it. It arrived right on time with no damage to the box or screen, and setup was quick and straightforward right out of the package. The built-in Roku interface makes streaming super simple, with apps loading fast and the remote handling both TV controls and streaming without any extra devices. Picture quality is sharp 4K with bright colors and solid HDR for movies and sports, and the TV’s size is perfect for a living room or bedroom without feeling overwhelming. At this price point for a 55-inch 4K smart TV, the value for this model was too good to pass up and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable upgrade. ... show more

    • Can you tie your shoe?
First off, full disclosure - we have had an account with ROKU for years and we have purchased their streaming units for some time. This unit has everything installed. You need a ROKU account but that is free and that particular setup is a no brainer. That said, I can say without qualification, setting this up took all of 15 minutes. Unpacking was a snap - really glad it was packed that way as the delivery folks were not exactly gentle with the large box, despite the fact it weighs all of 30 lbs or so packed - its just a bit awkward for a single person. It came right of the box and ready for placing on the stands. Please make sure you have a SMALL phillips screwdriver as the 4 screws have small heads. The stands are basically the same width - so you need a longer base to place the unit. Now, the fun stuff. We plugged a BOSE sound bar (also available on Amazon - costs as much as the $298 screen) into the port (there are multiple ports and this goes into the HDMIARC port). Plug it in and thats it. Went through the onscreen setup (all of five minutes) put Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Prime Music, and Netflix apps on the top of the apps selection, and that's all we view. The picture is bright, the volume of the BOSE speaker (volume controls on the right side) of the ROKU controller - we haven't used the BOSE controller) and ease of app selection is just like your phone. There is a tremendous APP selection - finding ours specifically took a bit of time with the handheld controller and I mean just a few minutes, but most of that was getting used to the controller, a bit different than a cable TV controller but we dont watch "TV" per se - we just WIFI the three apps mentioned. The controller has the three apps available on the handset so it was probably overkill to have the apps on the top menu as well. We purchased the 55 inch screen and that seems just the right size for our TV/extra bedroom. Please make sure to measure the wall before you purchase. We used the included stands and put the screen on a bench but this rascal can be wall mounted, but I can't speak to that. This was exactly correct for us. AMZN is probably going to get bent about me mentioning BOSE and Netflix but those are the reasons we purchased both the screen and sound bar. Don't know anything about the screen volume - I have always been a fan of BOSE and it works perfectly in this application. Oh yes, the unit also has a cable port for wired application and two other HDMI ports should you want to plug in a DVD player though we use the WIFI with the wireless booster and the signal is strong so we experience ZERO buffering. Now, we ONLY use three applications and for us - its perfect. I read multiple reviews about some of the problems with initial setup such as a blank screen, failure to power on, power cord missing, and a couple of other things. We had zero problems - thats why I prefer both ROKU and BOSE -kinda like tying your shoe - not a big thing. Its just that simple. Now lets see what the Amazon censor committee does about the mentioning of other products available on Amazon. Still haven't figured them out.     • Fantastic for the price! Excellent picture and audio.
5 Stars. Amazing TV for the price! I am a big fan of ROKU TVs for their super simple navigation. (We once used very expense Samsung TVs for about 3k a piece in an office I managed and everyone went mad trying to navigate that brand's home screen.) This TV comes with the super awesome ROKU home screen with super intuitive navigation. Big tiles to choose from. Easy peezy. Anyways, this TV's picture is very clear and contains the Backdrop app which will display various artwork while your TV is sleeping. From that app you can really see the clarity, and some paint strokes make the TV look like an actual painting. The illusion is quite effective. Now that said the TV is 60hz refresh rate vs. 120hz and you do see some block edges when watching sports. (but for the price the picture is excellent!) And side note on the Backdrops app... Although you can tell the app to turn off at 7pm each night, you can't tell it to turn off after 30m like a traditional screensaver. I hope they add that feature in the future. Sounds is great and well balanced. Sound is far superior from previous Roku TVs I have owned. I should add that I live in an apartment, so I don't really crank up the volume but I can clearly hear the difference between this one and my previous TVs. This one has fuller sound with more emphasis in the mids. Almost like a Shure SM7B microphone. (audiophiles will know what I am talking about.) Picture quality is great, navigation is great, and the remote contains a built-in microphone to help search by voice. The one thing I don't like is that it does NOT have a 3/8mm audio jack which means you can not plug in wired headphones and/or wired speakers. Crazy, right?! Now that said it does have built-in bluetooth and once you've paired your headphones it will find them automatically each time you turn your headphones on. So, that's cool, but I'd still like to have that jack. Overall fantastic television and I hope you will give the ROKU brand a chance! (if you are not already a die-hard Roku fan like myself and many of the other commentators here.) ... show more

For a basic Smart Roku TV and for its price - this is fantastic. I was able to get the 2025 55 inch version on a sale for $220 to put up in my small NYC studio apartment that isn't my primary residence which I sometimes will sub-lease to others. I was quite impressed for what you get for the money - the processor is fast and the built-in Roku system is just as good/snappy as their higher tier models (Roku Pro, etc). The picture quality is above adequate and the brightness is good when you factor in the cost of the unit itself. I had it on the brightest mode and I find it to be perfectly adequate - I would say it reaches about 400 nits on max brightness. For watching and streaming - I was satisfied. The built-in audio quality is also basic but adequate but I do like the fact that it can be connected & paired with bluetooth headphones. It also has Apple Airplay 2 which is nice if you need to mirror your iPad, iPhone, or MacBook. I would recommend this TV for those especially budget conscious such as College Students in a Dorm, People who rent out their apartments on AirBnb or Vrbo, and individuals who want something cheap, basic, and reliable in their personal bedrooms/guestrooms. When you benchmark this 55 inch model against its peers in the same price point, I think you get alot of bang for your buck here especially considering the snapiness and user-friendliness of the Roku system/processor which is superior in my opinion to Google TV/ Amazon Fire TV/ Samsung Tizen TV. ... show more

I ordered the 55-in 4K television. The quality of the television to the price point is excellent. The setup was very easy. The sound is clear and loud enough, even for my hard of hearing partner. The picture is fine. The remote control has voice control capability. Setting up to my cable box was very easy with my existing HDMI cord. I've checked both wireless and wired connectivity and both work perfectly. I had used a Roku box with my last tv, all I had to do was sign into my Roku account and all my settings for which apps I had loaded came up again. It does have some drawbacks such as not much in the way of video control for brightness, contrast, color saturation, or sharpness. The remote control uses AAA batteries. It took a while to come in but it did arrive in the estimated date window and in excellent condition. There was no problem with how it was shipped.
