  • good value
Style: Dual 15" - 4 Ohm
The media could not be loaded. I can't believe these sound as good as they do at this price point. Great for my DJ setup. Both cabinets came with dings to them though as they are not packaged as the as their subwoofers are.

  • Great speaker for non-professionals on a budget that want big sound.
Style: Dual 15" - 4 Ohm
Okay so after owning and using this for a while I feel like I can talk about it. I have this paired with a Rockville amp and play music regularly. I turn it up quite high semi often as well. There are three types of people and this is for only one of them. Who it’s not for; people playing very large and regular gigs. If you’re a professional or someone that expects to put this thing through it’s paces a lot don’t buy this. I haven’t had any issues with it but I’m a business major and know that something was trimmed somewhere to make it cheap enough to sell. It was probably components. It sounds great and honestly it does the job very well when I do 50+ people parties with my friends (been a while since the last). But if you’re a professional you should be looking at something that’s going to last 5+ years with a big name behind it. So if you’re looking at this and you’re a professional my question would be why? This is also not for the second type of person; the person looking for a home theater setup. It will totally so the job, but for the same price as this and the amp you can get a complete surround sound system with a nice little sub that will do great, it’ll even be name brand if that means anything to you. If you have a huge room and are looking to add something to give some extra oomph to an existing system I’d recommend a Rockville sub instead and treat it like you’re the next person on my list. Who this is for; people that want really loud and great sound for the OCCASIONAL large party. Again, I haven’t had any problems but if you’re pushing this thing all the time it’s probably not gonna last as long as a high end name brand. But if you throw one or two good parties a year and the rest of the time it’ll be turned to a medium for home use, this right here is the absolute best bang for bucks you’re going to find. It’s for people who don’t want to spend 750-1000+ dollars on something smaller. Sure that might sound a little better and be able to play non stop at very high volumes for years, but again if you’re not going to be doing that then why spend that much money? This is a great speaker for non-professionals on a budget that want big sound. I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Budget loudspeaker inside and out..but decent
Style: Dual 15" - 4 Ohm
So I pulled the trigger and got a half price, returned, scratch and dent dual15" 4ohm box. Luckily it had very minimal damage and was very happy for the price. I did inspect internally as it had a small piece of the box damaged but nothing to worry about. Right off I noticed the box resembles particle board rather than mdf. I was thinking giving the size and speakers it would had been much heavier than it is. Not really any bracing inside either, nor any polyfill or foam, and has some little 2x2 plastic ports with no extentions. Also noticed the wiring is pretty small given it's wattage rating. Looks like 20 guage. Debating adding some acoustic foam to the walls and wiring in some 14 guage speaker wire for peace of mind. Quickly got it hooked up to the 2k watt rms rack amp that I bought with this and the sound was decent. It can get nice and loud, but a little muffled. Definitely does not have any kind of deep bass surprisingly. Would benefit running it through an eq to brighten the top. For the price I got it for, I am still happy with it and plan to buy one more. ... show more

  • Read reviews, not the description, know what you are getting before you jump in!
Style: Dual 15" - 4 Ohm
I bought the double 15" 4 Ohm model. I purchased a 'used' one for almost half price. I knew what to expect before this arrived. Yes, my shipping box was BARELY in one piece. Yes, my sample has visible dents in the front. Yes my grille is banged up (and very very poorly assembled). Yes, there is indeed no crossover for the bass speakers (I haven't pulled the tweeters out yet to see if they have any caps or not). Yes that floppy piece of sheet metal they call a grille rattles something fierce at times. No, there is no damping material in the enclosure, and no, they will not make an audiophile happy with the purity of their sound. But they do rock! They go pretty deep. Running a 20-20kHz sweep with about 500 watts reveals some serious hotspots/deficiencies, or maybe my small test room just has several items that resonate at different frequencies. I would not push them with any more than 500watts or so. Sadly, I do not think they should be rated 105db at 1 watt/1meter. My right channel in this test setup is a Polk bookshelf/center channel, and it is clearly more audible at all power levels, than this Rockville (except the bass of course). But when the volume gets to the point that I fear for the health of the Polk and turn it down some, the Rockville keeps going like the Energizer Bunny. :D I think the Polk is rated at 92db/1 watt, so maybe this big boy would be 88db @1watt? I wish I could test this in a larger venue before posting this review, I imagine once you get to 10 or 20 meters away, the Polk would turn into the Verizon guy (can you hear me now?), whereas the Rockville would still be causing winces of occasional pain in the faces of the listeners. Amazon asked me to rate "light weight". I gave it a 3. Yes, it weighs 65 lbs or so, but during some sub test music, the tower was seen rocking back and forth an inch or so (on thick carpet). Sorta heavy, but not heavy enough. :D Probably would be fine on a solid floor. If you were going to travel with this, I'd suggest looking into the single 12's, with tripods, and a get a sub (or two) with the cost savings. ... show more
