  • So far so good

So far so good, AC/DC sounding GOOD up in here! Fit great in my Jeep Compass.

  • Great bang for your buck
Pattern: Speaker
I bought these for my 2022 WRX, without the HK audio. The speakers sound great even though I am running them off the stock head unit. They have great clarity in the highs and mids, however these do lack a deep bass sound. For $100 dollars this pair is amazing, and will be a perfect upgrade for most people. If you want to shake your car these are probably not the speakers for you, but if you're looking for a quality upgrade these are perfect. Now, the install difficulty will depend on your car, and your general skills. I found an amazing video on youtube for the install on my car and would recommend anyone else do the same. My install for the driver door and passenger door took about 45 minutes total. It can definitly be faster, but I took my time. For my car I needed to buy a few other things in order for these to fit without modifying my car. I had to buy a harness that connects to my car and connects to the spade connectors on the speakers. By doing this I didnt have to splice anything which is a plus for me on a new car. I also bought a mounting bracket that fits perfectly into my car and hold the speakers right where they need to be. If you are thinking about buying this I would reccommend that you do your research for the install on your car, but in terms of the speakers these are perfect. ... show more

  • Sounds decent with good volume and high quality. Requires too much power to be labeled as a factory replacement speaker
Pattern: Speaker
These speakers are pretty inexpensive from a famous brand and have good volume and decent, if a bit underwhelming compared to stock, sound quality. While these produce treble well, the bass doesn't kick as well as the stock speakers. It has plenty of mid bass (the constant underlying bass that vibrates the car when you turn the bass knob all the way up - I think I'm using that term correctly), but it fails to produce "punchy" bass. You have to crank up the bass knob which may get you a little punch, but it also adds that mid bass which tends to hurt your ears. I am not expecting subwoofer quality, but I am expecting it to match my OEM speakers, which it does not. I think the main reason is the speakers are underpowered by the stock head unit, but if that is the case they have the wrong marketing. They are marketed as "factory replacement speakers", but they require too much power to be labeled as that, because the OEM head unit in my vehicle does not have enough power to produce full bass from these speakers whereas it could with the factory speakers. A disappointment because I purchased these specifically for the reason of not needing to install an amp or more powerful head unit. I'm sure they would sound great otherwise, but until I replace the head unit, they are going to sound underwhelming. Also, the warranty is very short. 1 year does not inspire confidence. ... show more

  • Town and Country Minivan factory replacement speakers
Pattern: Speaker
I Installed four in a town and county minivan and wow. The humpty dance has a little thump to it now, and Adele sounds amazing. Maybe not for the guy with a sub-woofer where the backseat should be. But for factory replacements, maybe the best bang for buck out there. Are these for you: *Do you have a factory radio with 6x9 speakers? Then yes. *Do you like high fidelity sound? Then yes. *Do you refer to your car radio as a system? Then maybe not. *Are you good at removing interior panels and dealing with electronics? If not, then support your local Best buy. *Are you an eternal 16 year old that wants to rattle windows? Then no, these 6x9's don't have large bass drivers. *Are you looking for a very high quality product at a great price? Then yes. *Does your radio put out decent power? If not you may need to get a small amp. Summery: These are not some miracle bass thumpers that some accountant accidentally priced at 45 bucks. They are designed to replace factory speakers. They are 2-65 watts RMS. This means they are designed to handle 2-65 watts for normal operation. If you have 6X9 factory speakers these will probably work great. If not you may need a small amp. ... show more

  • Great upgrade for OEM speakers, and amazing price.
Pattern: Speaker
Great replacement for OEM speakers. These speakers fit nicely in my '17 Forester front doors. Had to modify the enclosure from the original speakers to fit these. They are a great upgrade to the standard speakers that come with the car. In addition, I also installed some 2.15" PowerBass mid-tweeters in the dash corner position with bass blocking capacitors at 1.2kHz. Together, these make very clean detailed sound with accurate low end response. I would not recommend these speakers to anyone who wants to hear loads of bass or who like to push their system to the limit. These aren't "enthusiast" speakers, they are for people who listen at moderate levels and want good detailed performance with accurate response. Also consider the price... They are not expensive and shouldn't be compared to premium level offerings that cost 2 or 3x. Overall, I love them. These, the in-dash tweeters, and bass blockers I got all for less than $75 on Amazon. I'm using them with the stock head unit and it's plenty loud for my needs. ... show more

  • Happy with the purchase Happy with the purchase
Pattern: Speaker
Install was pretty straight forward in a 2008 Nissan Xterra, and I’m happy with the sound quality. This replaced some 15 year old factory speakers in a daily driver, so high-end audio was not required. I did not use the included wiring ‘harness’ as I had separately purchased a wiring harness that plugged directly into the factory plug. (I have no reason to doubt the included wiring). I did end up taking a 1/2” drill bit to the areas around where the mounting screws go due to my 8mm socket not fitting in there too well; may not be necessary if you are patient enough, or your OEM mounting screws allow for use of a screw driver. Overall pleased and will be purchasing the equivalent of this speaker for the rear doors next. ... show more

  • Check your speakers on receipt! Check your speakers on receipt!
Pattern: Speaker
The speakers I received do sound good, however I did not receive what I ordered. I ordered the Prime R169X3. The box even states it's the X3 model, however the speakers are the R169X2. The box and all packing were in perfect shape, too, so it didn't look like it had been opened and repacked. Unfortunately, I didn't realize the discrepancy until I had thrown the packing material away and I started to install the speakers, so I did not feel right sending it back to Amazon. Since these and the X3 have only a $10 price difference and there isn't that much of a difference in performance, I'll just live with it. I just wanted to put this out there for others. Installation was, well, it's a speaker. The only problem I had was that my printout of the cutout template wasn't to scale. So I had to create my own template. Not that big of a deal, though. ... show more
