Description

This 2-speaker, 50-watt high performance audio system is designed for select 1998-2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycles (see compatibility chart.) The replacement digital media receiver provides total control over your music by featuring Bluetooth wireless streaming, USB and AUX inputs, along with Pandora and an AM/FM digital tuner that is SiriusXM Ready. The source unit's built-in amplifier powers the 6.5" fairing speakers that are frequency-response tuned to overcome wind, exhaust, and road noise up to 75 MPH. This kit utilizes the existing factory system for power and speaker wiring.

Warning...longer review so.... Got this for my 03 Electra Glide. Had the factory Harmon Kardon ('06) and J&M 5.25 in fairing. No amp. Wasn't loud or clean. Was looking at various models and compoents from just new speakers to speakers, amp and head unit. At 61 didn't want to spend a ton of cash since riding on 2 wheels may not be to many more years. So.......went with this system to see if it would be enough and could add on more components if needed. This is plenty for my needs! Set up and install were easy. Play with different settings once it's installed. I.e. bass treble EQ HINT: I set EQ on hip hop preset, gains at +2db. Listen to Boston AC/DC Bush etc. This set up give loud clear sound all the way up to highest volume. Hope this helps ... show more

    • Easier to install than I expected.
I was a little hesitant about installing this myself but it went pretty easy, four fairing screws, four head unit mounting screws (helped having a 3/16 ball end long handle allen wrench), and three mounting screws for each speaker. Just unplugged the old harness and speaker wires and plugged them into the new gear. All together it took about an hour and twenty minutes not rushing. The sound is definitely better than the stock system. Louder and clearer. I took it for a ride and at first I was a little underwhelmed but then I figured out how to get into the 7 band equalizer and adjusted it (it was set at flat out of the box) and that made all the difference. ... show more

A solid sound difference as compared to my Boss Audio Stage 1 upgrade on my 13 ultra. Hand controls are retained and the radio has great user friendly controls. Only gripe I have is that I wish Rockford would be compatible with Harley Davidson amplifiers. I have a set of lower speakers in my lower fairings which now no longer play due to the amplifier being incompatible with the source unit. I’ll eventually upgrade this set up and put an amplifier in for the Rockford speakers because they are underpowered even with this source unit. Worth the money, don’t delay! ... show more

    • Really is plug and play for my 09 Street Glide
Installed the Stage 1 kit, receiver/speaker combo. Very easy install if you have a 6" long, 3/16 allen wrench with a ball end, buy this tool! The system sounds great, hand controls work, easy setup and operation. Play with the equalizer a bit. Great upgrade.

    • Awesome Sound but….
Keep in mind the sound of this unit is absolutely amazing. Only three stars due to the fact, the mounting screw holes on two different units would spin within the unit not allowing one of the four mounting screws to not be tightened.
