So I spent the money, got it installed, flashed the radio and I’m off and running. Speakers sound very tinny and harsh at high volume. Rear 6x9s lasted a day. I ordered a set of 6.5 Polks for front and Polk 6x9s for rear. They sound so much better with bass now and play just as loud. Absolutely can hear the music at 85 mph. You will need 8 1.5 pointed screws for rear 6x9s Supplied screws are too short. When you install amp, throw 8mm nuts and bolts in the trash. I used zip ties instead. You will also need to remove cover on amp and switch to manual tune. Switch to HPFand set to around 90. With Polk Speakers you can go as low as 70hz. ... show more

Mike in Austin is an awesome representative of Custom Sounds and Tint, I called the dealer prior to the purchase to inquire on the time to ship to my residence, which is quite close to Austin in San Antonio, Texas. I completed the Purchase and Mike called me back a few minutes later to make sure I had ordered the right model, because of the differences in Road Glide models of Harley Davidson. Turns out, I did order the correct one. I called Mike two days later when I was installing the Amp as part of the process with some questions, he was very helpful and responsive and we talked several times throughout that day. He took the time to call me back several times to make sure everything was coming along fine, Mike is a Great representative of the Custom Sounds customer service team and if he is not in management on the Custom Sounds Team he should be. Thanks Mike for you assistance throughout the install Process. It has been a slow tedious process especially working on it between 2 jobs but I should be done with it today and off to the Custom Sounds dealership here in San Antonio to have it flashed and listen to the great sounds Rockford Fosgate has to offer.     • The system does not produce very much bass.
The installation instructions and procedure is easy to follow and installs perfectly. The front speakers sound great. I expected to get more bass from the rear 6x9s. I think it would be better with an upgrade on them. I blew up the first set of 6x9s in the first week. It was very easy working with Rockford Fosgate support to get replacements. I adjusted the cross-over a bit and the second set are holding up great. I guess I need to get one of their subwoofers if I want bass. ... show more

For reference - 2019 Road Glide Special. Road Glide is a much easier install that a Street Glide, so keep that in mind. An SG is a nightmare changing the fairing speakers. I decided to upgrade from a Wild Boar system that just didn't give me the volume and clarity I wanted. First step, find a shop to flash your stereo, so that it is ready. Gather everything you need, especially a 3/4 step bit and a good PVC jigsaw bit. Take your time and make sure you do it right. I am a horrible mechanic, and this install took me about 4 hours, taking my time. Do it right and it will look good. Speakers are completely waterproof, after a wash, I had to open my lids to drain the water from the speakers, but the inside was dry. Just go nice and easy. Watch the Youtube video 3-4 times before you start. This system is amazing. Test ride, at 70MPH, I could only put the volume at 75% or it just overpowered my ears! It is a pricey system, but it looks awesome, and sounds awesome. If you're cash short, go with the amp/front speaker set. If you can afford it, get this one. I've had multiple systems on my bikes over the years, and this RF set is the first one I truly thought was worth the money and effort to install it. ... show more

Went from just a stock stereo system to this. Install was fairly simple. The scariest thing I've ever done to my bike was having to cut that hole in the saddlebag lid. Even that went well with the provided stencil. Everything looks great and sounds awesome. I bought the hog tunes system first, with the 400 watt amp and still wasnt satisfied because i couldnt really hear it above 70. So i bought this system and Im so impressed with how loud and clear this Rockford Fosgate system is. I can hear it clearly at 80+ Its a fairly easy install and everything is plug and play.. no splicing wires. Well worth the money! ... show more

I was sceptical that this system would perform, especially compared to the more expensive, boutique systems I'd looked into. I had mine professionally installed and have been very impressed.
