The Original Tornado Fan - The world-feets most powerful truck fan. This 12 Volt Clip Mount Fan is very easy to use and draws very little power. Simply clip to dash or other location, plug into 12V lighter socket and set the variable speed control. The Variable Speed Control is located on the 12V plug end of the power cord. The fan itself is pretty lightweight and built to last. Full Tilt Articulation add to this models flexibility and ease of use. There is also a mounting base included for those who want the power of the 12V Tornado Fan on a more permanent mount setup. This is my third one of these Roadpro Tornado fan that I have! I always have one in the house, one in the car and one in storage an extra for backup in case of power outages. In power outage situations I plug it in my solar generator and clip the fan on the handle of the generator! These fans give you a whole lot of bang for the wattage buck! This compact fan moves as much air as a 12" standing floor fan for MUCH LESS power usage. Yes, is it a bit loud when cranked all the way up but when you need to cool off in 100+ degrees, I'm NOT going to be a whiny little baby about it as long as it cools me down and keeps me cool. It's not that noisy from mid setting on down which is where I keep it set on and that is plenty of air. The seller shipped very fast and again, I am VERY happy with this purchase! I may even get another one for the car as a backup. The original and oldest one I have is still going strong for 8 years now with almost daily use! Excellent Quality! ... show more

Bigger than expected, about the size wide can of soup. The clamp is strong and substantial so no worries about it falling off. The kicker is how freakin powerful it is. It blows some major air. We do not have rear A/C and this does an excellent job of circulating the air to the rear seats to cool the car faster. It is loud on the highest setting, but you shouldn't need to leave it on high for long if your using it for circulation. Love that the switch is at the plug, so we don't have to reach for the fan. Also the fan speeds are adjustable via a potentiometer type dial, instead of a 3 speed switch, so you can find the perfect speed. ... show more

Heavy amp squirrel cage but... At low speeds creates a hi pitched whine which is drowned out at high speeds. I sent email to company & they responded the very next day with solution of refund or to ship new fan. I'm trying a new one as this fan really has good velocity of moving air & is not quite as loud as a hair dryer on the highest setting. Actually quieter than my portable air conditioner on high.     • Great performance, cheap plug
Blows a surprising amount of air on full blast (I have it mounted at arms length). Quite noisy at full speed, like a hairdryer, but I use in a semi tractor, so no issues with that for me, but for some in a car, perhaps noise could be an issue, but the trade off for air movement should be worthwhile for most I believe. I like it's performance but am worried about the electrical plugs build quality. Everything is plastic. The fan and housing are "ok" but I wouldn't want to drop it onto concrete getting in and out of vehicle, I have feeling it would break. The clip is very strong and the mounting arm is fine and its adjustability is GREAT. However, the electrical cord and the cig lighter adapter are EXTREMELY cheap feeling. There were no "new" when I purchased so I did the amazon warehouse deal (meaning returned item). Packaging was taped back together and box was undamaged when I recv'd, yet when I first plugged it in it had no juice, nothing. I thought I had a dead unit. I plugged and unplugged repeatedly until it finally fired to life. This was after I inserted the plug into the lighter socket and sorta twisted it and really jammed it in there. Only then is there positive contact. So I am worried about longevity. Using this technique it does work every time now, but still occasionally have to give it an extra 1/4 inch nudge further into cig lighter.... then the fan really cranks! Considering returning for a different unit, but am sure all of them have the same cheap plugs, so may keep it as I am otherwise very happy. If died in first year I'd buy another, I only paid $18.76 warehouse deal so..... One other note the fan must pull a good amount of juice as the adapter (where you adjust speed) gets quite warm. I have GPS, Dashcam and at other times plug in an ac conversion adapter and none of those cig adapters have ever gotten even the slightest bit warm, this one does. ... show more

    • Absolutely the best car fan you can buy...
This fan is AWESOME! A ton of CFM (airflow). Much more powerful than other fans I've tried. And I've tried a lot. The cord is very long and the fan speed control dimmer switch on the fan cigarette lighter plug is right there at your fingertips and is so convenient, whether you want to turn the fan completely off, full bore, or somewhere in between. Got it to move the cold air conditioning to my dog in the back seat. Clipped it over my center console and it works like a charm. Obviously, if you use it for this purpose, your dog might be a little nervous about the extra air and sound than they're used to. But it took just a couple of minutes of starting at low and slowly ramping up the speed and my dog realized it was cooling him off. Now he loves it. It's not horribly loud. Even at full blast, you can still easily talk with a passenger or listen to your radio. If you use this fan for any other purpose, like cooling yourself off, trust me, you're gonna love it. I can't say enough good things about this fan. I highly recommend it. ... show more

I had purchased this to use in my truck. I do security work outdoors, my truck is my office.this was a means to combat the humid Texas nights and save the ac freon. It arrived 2days earlier than expected, unbroken good shape. I read several reviews on this fan and others before deciding on this. It has been said this fan is loud, which it is.....but only if you run it full open,it does have a speed control built into it. Does sound like a hair dryer at full blast. Little playing with the speed adjustment you can find a comfortable setting that wont burn your ears off. It has several adjustment points on it, you can virtually point it any way you need. Its been stated it doesnt draw that much power from your battery, but enclosed instructions say to run with your vehicle on, .....the whole point was use in place of the AC, while saving gas, it just a matter of testing,finding out if it will drain the battery, otherwise pleased with purchace. ... show more

    • Ineffective and Annoying
I bought this fan because my vehicle is currently without air conditioning, and where I live that is not only uncomfortable, it's dangerous, at least for 5-6 months out of the year. Even on the highest setting - which is louder than an old hairdryer - it did nothing to cool the vehicle's interior, even when my passenger resorted to holding it up to his face. Also, even on the lowest setting, there is a constant high-pitched whining noise, which is both irritating - it set my teeth on edge, and only ten minutes of it was enough to give me a headache - and dangerously distracting for the driver. The temporary clip - understandably, I didn't get a chance to try the permanent mount - was a little wobbly, but worked well enough. The bolts that hold the two adjustable points on the mounting arm could not be physically tightened enough to keep it from moving, however, and there was no way to lock the side-to-side swivel of the fan itself, so it would change position when going over a bump. I wouldn't recommend this product at all; if it was actually functional as a cooling fan I would, for those who could put up with the noise, but it simply didn't. I'm returning mine. ... show more

    • Excellent fan - very strong and easy adjust
This is exactly what I had been searching for to use on my vintage truck in the summer. Having tried numerous other battery operated fans, they never really put out that much air to help cool the cabin. This little unit is a powerhouse. It is fully adjustable, clips firmly on my dash and works incredibly well. The 12V power source is perfect, as I don’t have to fret running out of battery like the other units.
