Avoid this product and seller. Purchased this in august, About two weeks later the control knob stopped working. 4 months later in December the temperatures dropped and the unit stopped working. Reached out to seller who wanted updates done. The issue is the unit doesn't power on when it's cold to load the update. A few weeks later the temps warmed up and the unit powered on. We did the update and after that there was no sound, a week later the temps dropped again and the unit hasn't worked since. Seller offered a replacement but only after they receive the defective one back. I paid to have it installed, now I have to pay to have it removed, ship to china and then pay to have new one installed. Just not worth the time or money

The directions match the listing on Amazon but the actual product is something different. Can not be used in my son’s 3 series BMW. This is now the 2nd unit purchased that says it will work in a 3 series but actually won’t. So frustrated!

The instructions are very basic, and don’t tell you how to set the many options available on screen. To this day I cannot get the sound to come through the car stereo trying both the aux cable or Bluetooth. Plus the wiring harness is so bulky that the radio would not fit back to its original position. You cannot get your hands behind the radio to guide the harness out of the way to allow it to come back further on a bmw unless you remove the whole dash. That’s why I bought this unit, it was supposed to be easy install. Far from it. Cars been apart for 2 weeks now trying to find someone in my city that’s familiar with bmw. It’s supposed to keep the original screen on the left side, so you can use it to access the bmw car menu. As you can see in the first picture it’s distorted. Do not recommend unless you’re planning on removing the whole dash.

Luckily I am pretty well experienced with 12 volt installs or else this unit would have gone into the trash. The installation instructions are virtually nonexistent but if you are familiar with factory radio wiring colors, in particular those for a bmw, you should be able to make this work. I was able to do so and am mostly pleased with the performance of this unit. It replaces a thoroughly outdated analog unit so virtually anything would be an upgrade. Being able to add wireless car play is awesome and really changes not just the look of the dash but obviously the performance of the sound system. I haven't tried the Android Auto as I don't have an Android phone but the wireless car play is pretty snappy. Screens and apps transition pretty quickly without lag. There is a bit of audio lag if you try controlling things via your phone. The solution is simply not to do that and to use the touch screen. If this device came with a link to a video installation or an online PDF I would add a star to the review but as it is it gets three stars

It looks great .I enjoy the apple CarPlay but no sound through the stereo even with aux cable and Bluetooth are connected. also it wont power off. I'm watching YouTube videos to try to see what i need to do.Ive installed a JVC and Jensen in a Camaro and Audi no problems. This looks great for the money but not sure how to navigate the install its just sitting in position until i can fix.
