Got this a month or so ago and have really enjoyed it. Assembly was pretty easy. Did need help on a few parts. The machine itself seems well made and very sturdy for home use. The smith machine slides easily and does what it is meant to do. The rowing and pull-down accessories are nice. Wish they had a non-permanent connection for the pull-down bar so I could change out different handles for different exercises. They have it for the rowing bar so I'm not sure why they didn't on the pull-down bar. Overall, a great machine for the price and the footprint is much smaller than other smith machines so it fits great in the space I have. ... show more

I rarely write reviews, but this is such an exceptional value, I felt I must. I used to have a complete gym in my home with thousands of dollars worth of equipment. However, my wife and I went on the road for a few years and I switched to body weight exercises. I am now settled and wanted to lift some weights safely, so I started to look at Smith machines as a safe way to get back to lifting. The RitFit stood out, mostly because it was half the price of most of the competition. Also, the manufacturer sells a lot of other more expensive weight equipment and they have a web site, so it seemed like a safe bet. I had some shipping issues, which was not the company's fault. I was able to call them directly from the number on the web site, they tracked my order and followed up with me after to make sure my issue was resolved. Excellent response if somewhat of a long wait on the phone. The machine arrived in three separate boxes a few days apart, one long heavy, one short heavy, and one with just the locking safety collars. The instructions were very good except that you need to put all the bottom upward facing bolts in place before adding any of the upright pieces. Also, make sure the long stainless steel bars have the threaded end facing up. The machine itself is is very well made and sturdy for the price. I have to agree with one of the online reviews on You Tube. This is the perfect machine for people that bench less that 300 lbs. That would be most of us. If you bench heavy, you would not be considering this machine anyhow. The Smith machine part is smooth and it is easy to catch the bar. The pull down bar and lat pull are both extremely smooth. I have been using this for a month now and have no complaints. It is sturdy and will last me for years. My max bench is 200 lbs and this is very stable. If you want more stability for some reason RitFit includes expansion bolts that you can put into a concrete floor for for absolute stability. Unless you lift heavy or have specific needs this machine does not provide, this FitRit Smith machine for about $400 dollars is a steal!! There was one other machine on Amazon for about $100 more, but they had no web site, no contact info and didn't sell other weight equipment. The next closest machine after that was close to $1000. For most people this is a GREAT buy. Also, keep in mind you will need to get separate weights and a bench, so still not cheap, but great if you want a home gym that you can use without a partner and still be safe. ... show more

Have had this machine about 2 months now and it is great. We got it with the 340lbs of weight and the plates are nice. The only issue we have is that the plate pegs for the barbell are a wider towards the end of the pegs. The weight plates have to be forced to go to the end to sit flush and then to take them off it’s a little bit of a struggle. Other than that it’s a pretty good machine. We don’t have the issue with the pegs on the cable attachment. ... show more

The machine shipped a couple of days after I placed the order and arrived in multiple boxes over three days. For assembly, I followed another reviewer's advice and used an 11/16 socket with my drill. This method proved to be a significant time saver compared to using a manual socket wrench or the provided tools. The instructions are primarily visual, so pay close attention to the illustrations. While they weren't bad overall, there was one part with a poorly drawn diagram that led me to install two parts on the wrong side initially. This mistake required me to disassemble what I had already put together to correct it. Timothy Murray’s review highlighted a similar issue and included helpful images for reference. I wish I had read that before I assembled mine. About 75% of the assembly can be completed alone, but for the remaining 25%, you'll need someone to assist in holding up certain parts during the process. It took me approximately 5 hours to complete the assembly by myself, and I had to use a ladder and pillows to support some pieces while screwing them in. I contacted the seller for a replacement piece as one was damaged and I received it quickly. Thank you! Aside from the hiccup with the instructions and the damaged piece, I am happy with this product. It is sturdy and works well. Tip: Take all of the parts out of the box, label them and layout in order BEFORE beginning the assembly. I did this and it helped a lot, especially since the parts do not come pre-labeled. ... show more

I'm very pleased with this purchase. Its no wonder that this one is the top selling Smith Machine currently on Amazon. I also believe RitFit customer service has a lot to do with that (with all the 5 star reviews). The RitFit 2.0 Smith Machine checked all the boxes for what I was looking for: - reasonably (low) priced - small footprint (which works in a 4ft x 4ft space) - quality materials and stable for my workouts - upper and lower pulleys included (with foot rest for rows) Upon unboxing, I noticed the quality with the included materials right away; definitely 14 guage at least. The 2.0 version also comes with solid steel guide rods and steel bearings for the slides. As a result, the barbell slides very smooth and is quite stable. RitFit customer service is also exceptional. They resolved an issue I had (as one of the long plate storage pegs was a little warped and I couldn't slide my weight plate all the way down). After I contacted RitFit customer service they were very understanding and promptly shipped me a replacement storage peg that arrived a few days later. If you're in the market looking for a Smith Machine similar to what I needed, don't hesitate, just buy the 2.0 version. ... show more
