Fairly easy for the plumber to install as a replacement to the previous old tankless water heater. Back to having plenty of hot water on demand. I read comments about noise level: it doesn't make any more noise than the previous heater. This was an item I handpicked due to size and many hours of research. There are other good products out there that is comparable, but this one is exactly what I was looking for and it's not disappointing. My installers were able to get it mounted in the same spot the previous tankless was in, with little alterations to the existing structure. Quite honestly, if someone was good with plumbing and felt comfortable dealing with Gas lines, this could easily be a DIY install for someone with an advanced skill do-it-yourself skillset. The instructions were very clear, the customer support guy was extremely helpful. He helped me order all of the necessary parts and even pointed me in the direction of where to get them from. The unit has multiple options for venting and intake which is clutch for those who may need to pivot due whatever circumstances. I originally wanted to go Concentric 5in and ended up settling for 2in twin pipe and couldn't be happier. My furthest bathroom is on the opposite side of the house and a floor up, and it took about 30 secs to get the hot water up there. Big improvement from the previous tankless. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We switched from a 40 gal tank heater to this rinnai and we are so far happy with it. I’m relatively handy and I did the install myself. The connecting and mounting of the heater wasn’t too bad, what took the longest was to re pipe the whole system since water connections were on top and the rinnai requires them on the bottom. It is pretty quiet. Not as quiet as the old one, but definitely very quiet. You can hear it in the video. When the family kicks in it gets slightly louder. We are in 1100 sq ft house and the heater is in the garage the heater shares a wall with the living room and you can barely hear when fully operational. Right the exterior temperature is about 45 degrees, the water is taking 90 seconds to go from cold to about 110 degrees to the shower, which is the furthest fixture in the house. About 25-30 ft of pipe in the crawl space. That’s about half the time the old one use to take. Easy to regulate temperature. Will update the review in a couple of months! ... show more

Delayed delivery due to it going to a house under construction, but the unit has had no issues once we got it and installed it. Exactly what the house needed. We are using this ( or a similar model depending on need) in all our new home builds and all our clients love them.

It takes some plumbing adjustments and re-routs if your are replacing a gas tank water heater, and you have to provide an electric circuit and condensate drain, too. I am surprised at how much noise this water heater makes! When the water is "on", it makes no noise, but when it is "off," there is a fan motor that comes on randomly throughout the day that hums and changes pitch. Maybe it has something to do with the "condensing" feature of this machine, but I really never expected it to be so annoyingly noisey! There is also quite a pressure drop through this machine. My shower no longer sprays like it used to, and the kitchen sink faucet runs pretty slow now too. It's installed, so I guess I'll have to live with it. ... show more

My first tankless water heater and the directions was great. Still tweaking things added a recirculating pump. This model ru160in was not equipped with one. But for my home size this works just fine. Love the warranty it has
