A 1" closed cell foam liner is included in all of our filled bags to help eliminate hand injuries. Springs are suggested when hanging bag from home rafters/support beams to minimizes the shock to home structure. This thing is tough and sturdy! I was hesitant about buying it in red but I actually love the color now. It's extremely well built and the stitching looks great and well place. I've been using it a few months now and it still feels brand new to me. I actually have it handing on a Punching Bag stand outside and I bring in and store it while i'm not using it. Great quality, not too soft and not too hard. It is not too heavy as well. Compared to my old one that's a lot smaller, but same weight (70lbs). I just got it and used only ones, but I can tell it is "solid."

With my 16 ounce glove, I can hit this thing as hard as I’d like Soft texture opened up the top.inside It’s like wool insulation. I got the black one. It weights 68 pounds. It has a circular seam about 1/3 from the top. That seam is above the hit zone so no matter. It is leather. I think it is a split hide and I think it is embossed, impressed with tiny dots. It might look artificial to some reviewers but I think that's because it is worked to give it a uniform aspect so people won't be reviewing the hide's appearance. I weigh 200 and this is enough weight for me to move with and hit. It I get it swinging too much I know I've been flat footed and shoving instead of punching. I like to rotate it occassionally to spread the wear but the swivel was so stiff that I thought it was defective. A few drops of 30 weight oil fixed it. I suggest you oil the swivel before hanging the bag. The swivel and the 4 short chains are permanently fitted together I put a piece of 4x4" post across two rafters in my garage and hung this from it with 3 loops of 1" nylon webbing. The canvas sewn-on Title labels are abrasive. They abraded my knuckles when I used just wraps. I'll remove the labels if I ever grow up but for now, for me, they're like go fast stripes on a car. ... show more

Excellent bag. Very tough leather construction. I hung from spring and held bottom with bungee attached to weight holder. Added two 45# plates to the holder to prevent bag from moving too far. Nice product.....and I believe USA MADE. bought their heavy bag gloves as well....very nice!
