Honestly, was shocked at the quality vs. price on this unit. It’s the strongest and most sturdy take down rod I have ever seen. The reel is excellent as well and it comes with an extra spool. I took it to Bass Pro to get it spooled and the old guy helping me, literally took down the name and info. and said it was much better than anything they sold in that category, and could not believe the price. Just got to Greece with it, and it traveled beautifully in my small backpack. I plan on using it today, and it will be perfect for the semi-light in-shore fishing I plan to do. I love this rod and real combo. It fits well in my 26 inch suitcase easily. I have used it on lakes as well as ocean shores. Obviously it would not be able to handle a large shark but has pulled in a 4 ft. blacktip. My son tried it out and bought one the same day.

This is a better product than I anticipated! The rod is well made, quality materials and feels great. The reel is smooth and fast. It assembles like a dream and is as sturdy as a one-piece rod! And when broken down fits into my carry-on backpack! Highly recommended!

Avid fly and spin guy. I wanted a solution to not schlep my rods and reels to far north Ontario. I have been eyeing this for a while and decided to pull the trigger. Super lightweight combo with good medium action. Not medium/heavy. I am impressed with the real. Loaded it with braid and then a floro leader. Very impressed with it for the price. I have all Daiwa reels (salt and fresh) and this is a great reel. Caught 10 nice pike 6-8 pounds with no issues as well as a mess of walleye. I am very interested in how the fly reel performs as that is my go to style of fishing. The ONLY downside that I can say is that after a fight with a fish some of the sections of the pole pull up a little, which is concerning and can cause issues.
