This is a great small reel for the price—definitely exceeded my expectations in a few key areas. Right out of the box, it feels like it’s made of good, quality materials, with a solid, well-built frame that doesn't feel cheap or flimsy like some other reels in this price range. The drag is smooth and consistent, which is a huge plus when you're fishing for lighter species like panfish. While the reel could be smoother overall in terms of retrieve, it is quiet and still performs well enough that I don’t feel let down for the price. It feels appropriately good. I also really like the style of the reel—it has a clean, modern design that looks sharp on the rod. It fits perfectly with our small panfish, light tackle rods, making it an ideal addition for finesse setups. This reel is as pictured and described. I got this to use on my 7ft telescopic rod and it works great. It is a good size and feels smooth when reeling in. It’s not heavy weight wise and is comfortable to use. I’ve been using this for bass in freshwater and have had no issues with it. It holds a good amount of line compared to some of my other reels I’ve got in the past. It is a nice reel, works well and feels good, I think it is priced appropriately. ... show more

I recently got this RIFT Chasm spinning reel to upgrade my kid's fishing pole. For the price, it has proven to be a good piece of gear. It has a carbon disc drag system and a 5.2:1 gear ratio, which makes for smooth retrieves. The 7+1 stainless steel ball bearings contribute to its smooth operation. The CNC aluminum spool with a knurled center feels durable. It's an ambidextrous reel that can work well for any beginner or casual fisherman. Given the price, I would never recommend this for game fishing or a professional angler.
