  • Ordering this Saw thru Amazom Resalers is NOT covered by the Rigid Lifetime Warranty
I like the saw and I am still putting it together but I found that it is NOT covered by the Ridge Lifetime Warranty which really is disappointing

  • Love my new saw!
On the internet, plenty of people dog the RIDGID R4512 table saw. I'm not a professional woodworker, so maybe I'm missing something. This saw cuts everything I put through it (mostly 2x lumber and 3/4 ac, bcx and cdx plywood.) I'm in the process of building jigs for fine angle cuts, my goal is producing some simple furniture pieces for family gifts. I've already built a wall-mount gun box that I'm getting offers for $1,000 each to build more of them. The saw makes a project like this a piece of cake. All my cuts came out perfect. As for "value for the money", I don't think there's another saw at this price point with these features (too numerous to mention, so go look it up). As for safety features, let's be honest, it's a table saw. In my opinion, probably the most dangerous tool in the shop, so RESPECT IT. If you're an idiot, buy a handsaw and make bird feeders. If you have a brain, I can't recommend this tool enough in order to get really nice cuts and power. The R4512 is dual voltage (120V/240V), you just decide which you want and wire it that way (it comes 120V, there are clear instructions how to wire it for 240V). If you want to change back, you'll have to do some tedious work from underneath the saw after it's set up, or do a lot of tear-down to make re-wiring easier (turn it on it's top, remove the frame, etc. NOTE: This thing is in the 300lb range fully assembled). So THINK about what voltage you want BEFORE you assemble the saw! I wish I could post more project pictures, but I'm in the middle of about five different ones that are incomplete due to lack of my time to get them finished and my wife's ever-changing priorities for which one she wants done first! She keeps adding projects! ... show more

  • BATTERY operated?
The description states BATTERY OPERATED. Detail says Battery not included. Duh?? Video available is for a saw bought several years ago. My neighbor has one of them. It was good at one time.

  • Honest review
So, like most of the people on here, I didn't purchase mine from here, but I got it from Home Depot. I loaded it up and took it home and immediately began assembly. After 5 hours (some of the instructions weren't as clear as they could have been) I finally had everything together and squared up. It was go time. I hit the "on" button and it sprang to life.......sort of. As soon as I released the on switch it cut power. I had to hold it down to get the motor to spin up. Once it go to full speed I could release the button. Immediately after getting to full speed however, the motor started making this horrible grinding noise, like there was a screw loose in the fan. Pulled everything apart, packed it back up, and took it back to Home Depot. I returned it. I'm not going to pay over $750 for something that's going to be broken right away. I can only imagine what other kinds of problems I would have run into. If the motor wouldn't have failed right away, then I'm sure this would have made a nice saw for the money. I'm going to spend a couple hundred extra bucks and get either a Laguna or a Shop Fox instead. ... show more

  • The Russian Roulette of Table Saws
I have had an R4512 for a few years. When I got my saw I was a very inexperienced wood worker and had almost no knowledge of table saw alignment. After a few years of working with it I was becoming frustrated because I was having problems with repeat-ability. I found out the fence had a flaw that caused it to shift when locked down. Rigid sent me another fence, same issue. I put a Vega Pro 50 on it which fixed that problem. Still, there were issues. I was trying to make a wine rack that was based on two identical boxes. I could not get two boxes to be close enough to work. I though I was a terrible wood worker (which still may be true mind you). My buddy asked about blade alignment to the miter slots so I checked using a finer gauge that slides in the miter track. I discovered the blade swings in and out when height is adjusted by as much as 13,000ths. I called Rigid and they told me to take it to a Orange building supply store about 30 miles away. I had to rent a truck (I drive a Prius), load it up, and drop it off. 2+ months later and I am still sans saw. After a month the repair shop called me and I realized they had no idea what I was talking about. The tech didn't even know what a miter slot is. They shipped it to a big repair center who also didn't understand the problem after several phone calls. I finally reached a supervisor, gave her very explicit instructions, and even sent a video of me testing the problem and some articles about the alignment situation. So now they know what the problem is, but the parts wont even be there until 1/31. By the time I get my saw back it will have taken more than 3 months and the cost of renting a truck twice. It's a good saw but check your fence and definitely check the blade alignment. If your's has the issue get it replaced immediately and the fence seems to be pretty crummy. Get a better fence asap. ... show more
