So far, this is working well. Has only been about a low of 26 F, but bird bath has been ice-free. Seems to be well built, and I like the long cord of about 3 1/2 feet. Don't know how long it will last. I have never had a warmer that lasted more than 2 years; maybe this will.

Worked great for 2 days and then died. When tried to check in indoor outlets, it triggered the circuit to short out. A bit concerning that it could cause a fire.

This bird bath water warmer works as advertised. Prevents ice from forming and enables birds, to drink from it. Deer passing by also help themselves.

I've had other bird heaters that didn't last more than one winter season. So far so good with this one. I can't write about the longevity as we just started using it. What I can say though is that this heater is rated at 70W which is higher than the ones we previously purchased. We've had some cold nights already this year that would have caused ice to build around the edges of the bird bath. This heater has prevented that so I'm hopeful that the increase in wattage will keep the bath from freezing solid like it had done in the past. Hence, the reason the other heaters probably only lasted a year. It lays nice and flat on the bottom of the bath because the cord is more pliable than the previous heaters. Those cords were very stiff so the heaters would tilt up to the edge where the cord exited over the side. Very happy with this purchase.
