Exact replacement for my Rheem water heater thermostat. The original was only two years old and reading the other reviews, I expect this one to last just as long, it is the exact same unit. The piezoelectric ignitor was broken, appears to have been at factory before it was boxed. There was no box damage and the broken pieces were not inside. They show a updated model. When you get the controller it's the same sp20303D model as what you are trying to replace. It is made in Mexico and likely it will be defective and fail like the original. I was given the run around and not able to return it!

    • SP20303D replaces AP15255D
Per the Rheem website part number SP20303D replaces AP15255D. Ordered SP20303D, the box is label on the outside with this same number, but the actual part inside the box is labeled AP15255D. My problem was resolved, I just hope that the solenoid on new controller last more than the two years that the original did. ... show more
