I'm rehabbing and living in a house that's well over 100 years old. I'm gutting it room by room and redoing electrical, plumbing, insulation and restoring as much of the woodwork and flooring as I can. The room I'm presently using as my bedroom used to be the dining room. When they added the door and frame the switch that controls the overhead light ended up being outside the door in the hall. This won't always be my room so I'm not going to try and relocate the switch but it does get frustrating when I turn off the light on my bedside table and realize the overhead light is still on. I saw this one came with a remote control so I ordered it. The light fixture that I had was a twin bulb fixture with a square globe probably from the sixties with a very large round base so I needed one large enough to cover up the footprint of this light that had been painted around numerous times. This fixture more than fit the bill. What's really nice about this fixture is the mounting base is slotted so it can be installed in almost any application. You don't have to attach a bracket to a junction box then try to line up the screw holes. You can attach this mounting plate to any style junction box or screw it directly into the ceiling if there is no box as in my situation. My situation was especially unique as there is also a capped off gas pipe sticking out just a bit past the ceiling preventing me from attaching the mounting plate directly to the ceiling. As I said this is a very old house so it must have originally had gas lights. Luckily this fixture also comes with little snap in risers for the mounting bracket that held it off the ceiling just enough to straddle the pipe cap. Now it was just a matter of connecting the wires and twisting the light onto the bracket to lock it into place. Here's where I was pleasantly surprised again. There is a little tether (shown in the picture) that allows you to hang the light from the base freeing your hands up to do the wiring. As a house painter I have removed and replaced hundreds of light fixtures and have never seen this feature. The light has a few different warmth settings that can be dimmed or brightened with the remote as well as a choice of many different colors. All of this can be controlled with the included remote. But my favorite feature is being able to turn it off and on from my bed. No more jumping out of my nice warm bed to shut off the lights! ... show more

I have a few of these lights installed in my loft and they are some of the easiest fixtures I've had the pleasure of installing. Once the mounting plate is up, it's just a matter of connecting black and white, then powering on. I installed this is my livingroom and mostly use the lowest brightness setting, or the rgb ring alone. Bright is an understatement! Positioned in the right place, this will light up a whole room! My only issue is that the RBG colors are a bit off, not painstakingly so, but yellow and orange are a bit strange where I don't see then being used. ... show more

This 13-inch flush mount LED light looks nice and has several color options, including a night light. The main center light is dimmable with the remote, which you use to select the perfect color temperature from bright white to antique yellowish color. The outer ring has the option of changing between 7 colors which is really different. You can even have it automatically change the outer ring color every 30 seconds to keep the room festive. You can have the center light on and the outer ring light on at the same time if you wish to match your décor or your mood. Everything you need to easily install the light. Including a hook to hold the light up on the base while you connect the wires. The light base has wide slots to fit almost any mounting box already in place with your existing light. Installation was so simple it only took me 10 minutes to remove the old light, attach the base, connect the wires, and screw the light to the base. So simple. The remote looks nice; it’s not a cheap-looking remote like you might see with other lights. A nice feature is you don’t need the remote each time you turn on the light as it can save your last setting, so you only need to use the remote if you want to change something. ... show more
