All the Hair Finally Cooperated Let's talk hair. Mine has always had a mind of its own. It's not quite curly, not quite straight, and has a stubborn tendency to do whatever it doesn't want to do on any given day. I can shape my hair the way I want it, add texture and definition, but it still feels natural and I can run my hands through it without getting stuck. It keeps everything in place throughout the day without feeling stiff or heavy. The low shine finish is also exactly what I was looking for – it looks natural, not greasy or overly styled. Another huge win? It's water soluble. Washing it out at the end of the day is effortless, leaving no residue or build-up. I have fine, very straight hair—longish on top, short on the sides—and this is my current favorite product. Has a creamy paste consistency, which immediately starts to get "sticky" when rubbed between your hands. It's fairly easy to work-in to the hair, although as the product ages in the jar it gets a little thicker/stickier and doesn't apply quite as smoothly. Nice subtle scent - like peppermint chocolate! Strength of hold varies with amount used—a small amount works for a flexible, more relaxed hold; a larger amount will yield a fairly strong/voluminous hold, without being "crispy" or flakey. Neutral shine. Washes out fairly easily. The hockey-puck tin that it comes in looks cool, but is both good and bad. Being so large, yet flat, there is not much purchase area to grip the smooth sides and it can be difficult to open. This is especially true if any product gets in the threads and it "fuses" shut. Plus, the wide surface area exposes more of the product to the air, so it will dry out faster. That usually won't be a problem though, unless it's only used occasionally. The flip side, is that because the can is so shallow, it's easy to get to the product at the bottom. Good stuff overall.

I have finally found the hair product that I plan to use forever. I have thick wavy hare and I keep it styled fairly short, but with enough length to have a few options. I've been on a journey to find the perfect hair product that would: 1. Control my hair, 2. Not look greasy or stiff, 3. Not smell like something that should go in a smoothie, and 4. Felt like a good value. Reuzel meets and exceeds all of those needs. It works really well, without giving you stiff or residue filled hair. In fact, aside from a slight shine it has a very matte finish and you can barely tell there;s any product there at all. Reuzel washes out with a bit of water and lasts all day. Pros: 1. No residue or stiffness to your hair 2. No residue on your hands if you run your hands through your hair 3. Perfect medium hold with a natural matte finish 4. Smells kind of pepperminty (could either be a pro or con depending on your preference) 5. Cost Cons: 1. None. It's darn near perfect. Overall: Compared to Suavecito (which I also liked), Redken, and countless other products I've tried, Reuzel hits all of the important things to me. I'll continue to use this as long as they'll continue to sell it. Perfect combination of utility and value.
