  • Glitches
It’s a low price because it’s a cheap product. It’s fun when it works

  • Fun and cute little system, but a disorganized collection of poorly emulated NES games.
I didn't love this little system as much as I'd hoped, but I can't say it wasn't a cute idea. There's something kind of fun about playing old games in front of a miniature TV, with a working volume knob. Unfortunately, there are quite a few drawbacks that make this feel pretty cheap, and thrown together without a lot of care. If you're looking for a good retro nostalgia experience, this isn't going to be what you want. This is absolutely not the best way to experience the old games you remember. However, if you're just looking for a fun desk toy or fun gift, this is still kind of a fun thing for the price. IN THE BOX: In the box you get the TV console itself, two wireless controllers, a USB-C to USB-A charging cable for the console, and an AV Cable for sending Audio/Video to a TV (if you happen to have a TV that still supports these inputs.) THE CONSOLE: As cute as the little TV is, the display is fairly washed out. It only has a 3-inch display, not 3.5-inch as listed in the specs. It has a tiny working volume knob on the front, and a couple of buttons for power/reset. On the back are two micro-USB ports for charging controllers (that go unused, as the controllers are wireless, and non-rechargeable: They take AAA batteries.) and the AV port. THE GAMES: Surprisingly, there were actually 749 games on my system. They are ALL old NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) games, haphazardly organized into 6 categories. They're roughly in alphabetical order, but many are not, and many are misnamed. For example, "Tetris" is included under Puzzle games, but "Tetris II" is under the Mini-games category. Not all of the games work. Tetris was totally broken - with lots of missing graphics that made it unplayable. Super Mario Bros. ran at about 2x speed, so the music and enemies were all sped up, whereas Super Mario Bros. 3 seemed to have a lot of slowdown. THE CONTROLLERS: The controllers are also a little weird. They feel like they are from a different toy. They are wireless, which is nice, but require 2 AAA batteries (not included). The buttons are layed-out like a Super Nintendo controller, but in a square pattern rather than a diamond, and color coded but not labeled. It's also a bit odd since there are 4 action buttons, but every game included on the console is an NES game, which only had 2 buttons. In summary, this is a fun little desk toy, but if you're a retro game enthusiast, this isn't really what you'd want. This is more akin to something you might win at a raffle. It all feels a little cheap, and like it was put together from bits and pieces of other products. There's no attention to quality of the actual games, how well they work, or even IF they work. Even at this price point it would have been nicer to see a little more care put into the experience. That being said, I wouldn't feel bad giving this to a kid as a fun gift, or having it sitting around as a desk toy. ... show more

This is a great idea in theory but terribly executed. I'm glad I just gave this to my partner as a one off gift. He loves old video games. But if I saved this as a nice gift he would have been very disappointed. The screen is smaller than advertised. The games look awful. Some don't seem to work at all. I don't understand how they are categorized. Overall I think people would pay more for a quality product than something like this. ... show more
