Also, it is more than long enough to make it all the way through the to the sink drain. I think that this brush might also work for clearing blockages from kitchen sink drains since the brush head will fil through the grate openings. Bought to clean tubes to our countertop ice maker. Worked but was very hard to push through the tube because it is not stiff enough. Someone else called it a 'wet noodle', this is accurate. I've been using plastic doohickey devices to clear our the kitchen sink drain (it's a dual sink, too!). The plastic tool works, but has limited reach and doesn't feel sturdy. I like that this is akin to a metal snaking tool, with a bristle brush on the end. It actually seems to do a much better job than the plastic tools. And, I have to add that once the plastic tool broke off, which then necessitated opening up the drain pipes to extract the plastic piece. I seriously doubt that will happen with the stainless steel snake. Testimony to my appreciation for this product is that I actually purchased another set for my sister. So, obviously I feel it's a very effective, capable tool. Therefore, it merits a 4.75+ star rating. ... show more

I had to use it right away to de clog a dehumidifier tube. It was like trying to push a wet noodle into the tube. I carefully fed it at the base as it’s not rigid … on my first attempt the spring type insert that it is folded in half three times.
