  • M17 handheld (not something from mission impossible)
Style: 128 GB
I'm generation x, and being able to play all these old school games is a total blast. The M17 has a ton Atari 2600, 5200 and 7800 roms, Nes, and even N64. My main complaint is that the N64 section did not have either of the legend of Zelda games. This is a relatively simple fix. The sound isn't the greatest and the M17 does not have Bluetooth. To the person who gave a low review because of the lack of games, I suggest trying to locate the sd card that came with the system, install it and reboot. ... show more

  • Fun Retro Handheld With a Great Screen and One Important Setup Step
Style: 128 GB
This retro handheld has been a fun device for classic gaming. The 4.3 inch IPS screen looks very nice for its size, with good brightness and viewing angles that make games easy to enjoy. The display is one of the stronger points and helps older games look clean and sharp. One thing that is very important to know is how the micro SD card is handled. Unlike most handhelds where the card is already inserted, this one comes with the micro SD stored inside the booklet material. Once you insert the card into the system, everything works as expected and the full game library becomes available. If the card is not installed, there are barely any games, and the ones that show up are not very good, so inserting the micro SD card is essential. From my experience, this handheld works best with 16 bit systems and MAME arcade games. Those run well and feel like a good match for the hardware. Performance has been solid in those areas and made up most of my playtime so far. Battery life has not been bad at all. I have been able to play for hours without needing to charge, which makes it easy to use for longer sessions without worrying about plugging it in constantly. Controls feel decent, and the handheld is comfortable enough for extended play. Emuelec works well once set up, and navigating the menus becomes straightforward after a little time. This is not the best handheld console in its class, but it is also not the worst. It sits somewhere in the middle and has been a lot of fun to use. As long as the micro SD card is installed, it delivers an enjoyable retro gaming experience and earns a solid four star rating from me. If the value is right at the time, I think it's worth it. It's a nice addition to my connection nonetheless. ... show more

  • Nice portable game console
Style: 128 GB
This portable gaming system has loads of games taking me back to my childhood! THe Console is a good size fitting nicely in my hands with a bright wide screen. Please be aware the sd card containing all the games is packaged separately in the packaging and will not work without it. The system is easy to turn off and on and seems to be made well. Depending on the game you're looking for it's can sometimes be hard to find the right game. Example there are several versions of tetris, one is the old school version and others were ones I was not familiar with. It gives you a lot f game options to try out either at home or on the go. Would be great for kids on roadtrips or on planes. ... show more

  • Good Selection
Style: 128 GB
It comes with a SD card loaded with games. The SD card is in a separate ziplock baggy that came in the same bundle as the screen protector, its not inside the machine. Make sure you insert that card or it wont work properly. If you do not insert it you get this neutered version that only has 5 ghetto games that I am assuming were just for debugging purposes. Its got just about every retro game ever made. Everything from NES, SNES, playstation 1, PSP, and a bunch of other systems. I was playing megaman X, worms world at war, metal slug. Its pretty cool! For 65 bucks you get a fairly powerful retro gaming system. It doesn't have anything newer than about 2010. The controls feel fine physically. The joysticks responded how I expected and dont feel cheap. Some of the controls dont seem mapped out to each game very well. Like in megaman jump was Y instead of A like you would expect. I didnt see an option to change them either. Im sure you would get used to it, but it felt very awkward. Im guessing whoever set this up didnt take the time to set the controls up for each emulator correctly. Some of the games have language issues. Megaman was playable, but for some reason none of the characters dialog boxes were showing. In Worms the language was set to french, and I saw no option to change it to english. It was annoying. I tried putting my own roms on there that I know work, but those didnt show the text boxes either. This means its a problem with the emulator itself. This is bad enough to knock a star off. Overall This is really good for 65 dollars. Im impressed by the quality of this. Its not up to the quality level of a professional Nintendo product, but its also way cheaper. ... show more
