This EraVortx retro handheld console is a decent little stocking stuffer for retro gaming fans. The 3.5" IPS screen is bright and sharp for its size, and the 4000mAh battery gives a good few hours of playtime. It comes loaded with over 20,000 classic games across 20+ emulators, so there’s plenty to explore—NES, SNES, GBA, arcade stuff, and more. The Linux-based open-source system is simple to navigate, and the build feels sturdy enough for casual pocket use. That said, it’s very much a budget device—controls are a bit mushy, some emulators run smoother than others (expect occasional slowdowns on more demanding titles), and the interface is basic with some duplicate or mislabeled games. It’s not a premium Anbernic or Retroid, but for the price, it’s a fun, no-fuss grab for kids or nostalgic adults who want something to mess with on the couch. Overall, solid little impulse buy or gift for light retro gaming—perfect as a stocking stuffer!

My husband lost his mind when I asked him to look at this little game system for me. As kids of the 80’s and 90’s we had access to some of the coolest emerging tech as far as game systems go. This system is an emulator and seems to have so many game systems and games that are playable. The console has cool LED lights on it and all the buttons you would expect to find on a Nintendo 64, game boy, dream cast, etc. I don’t think there is a game you couldn’t play. Get this for the gamer in your life and they will lose their mind.

When I saw this item, although it only had 4 reviews, they were all 5 stars so I requested it thinking it might be a good deal. After receiving it and trying to use this extremely cheap, flimsy, poorly made game console, I looked at the reviews again. In my excitement to try it, I didn't realize they were all posted on the same day and were unverified. This thing is awful. It is very cheap plastic, the interface is horrible and laggy, not easy to use. I really can't say anything good about it. At all. I'm learning to pay more attention to unverified reviews, especially when they are all glowing. This will cost me $28 in taxes on the current inflated selling price of $80. It's not worth it.

There are a ton of these retro handhelds out there and most of them are pretty much clones of each other. While this one is in the same shape and size as the popular r36s, it actually does something better by improving the joysticks. This has joysticks you'll find a more premium handhelds like those from Ayaneo or retroid. You can remove the tops and use different tops. It even comes with some tall red joysticks to put on there for arcade gaming. The unit itself plays about the same as an r36s with the similar CPU and screen. The buttons have a really nice feel in them and I love the way it feels in the hand. While the d-pad looks a little bit unconventional, I actually ended up liking it more than I expected. It also has a decent set of games, although some of the ROMs don't have proper scraping meaning it's missing artwork. There's also Wi-Fi built in which is a great thing. Overall, I think this is a much better improvement over the r36s in many ways
