This is such a great product! It takes a little time to get the board and pieces poured but it is worth it. Take your time when pouring into the pawns because if you get air in the right place it won’t turn out right. I spray a bit of Isopropyl alcohol into them first and then pour slowly to get them filled correctly. If you want a great looking chess set pick one of these up. Be careful, though, when demolding these. I have torn a couple boards when the resin stuck to the mold and wouldn’t release. The other issue I have is that one of the pawn molds is a little wonky on the bottom. Instead of being round, it is more of an oval shape. Luckily I have other pawn molds but if this was the only one I wouldn't be very happy with it. Still, super happy with this set! ... show more

Once again resinworld doesn’t disappoint. I’ve had 3 other molds and they were either too small, too thin or didn’t turn out shiny everywhere. All solved with this mold. It’s larger but not too, deeper and my board turned out great. Had a difficult time getting pieces out in one piece but I’m chalking that up to inexperience & am going to try again. ... show more

    • So far so good. Made a couple boards and it worked great.
Used the mold a couple time so far and it has worked great. Easy to remove the board and it was pretty easy to separate the colors with the little lines on the mold. 👍🏻

    • Great chess mold- take your time!
The media could not be loaded. This chess mold was fun to work with. I originally put too much into the black squares and had some spill over - the dividers are REALLY SMALL but I have shaky hands and was able to pull it off. This video is the first time demolding. I had no issues with my resin coming out. The bad marbling on the edges is my fault, not the molds! I tried to add flair. I have shamed myself. ... show more

The mold is actually really good, the pieces are a little tough to remove, but I actually figured they would be. my only complaint is that I was missing one pawn mold. I tried to contact the seller on but I can seem to figure out how to do this. Other than that I was very pleased.

I read a lot of other reviews about the mold tearing and getting stuck. I had 0 issues. Mold peeled off perfectly and left me with a beautiful piece. Very happy.

So the silicone is thick which is nice for the board and the board comes out thick. so when you do the squares first if you go over it's little lid you'll end up going into the next Square so you have to be a little bit careful about how much epoxy you put on the squares first and then wait for it to dry and then put another layer on top of it which ends up becoming the bottom side. I'm not sure the exact epoxy amount but it was more than what I expected. The pieces are a little bit harder to get the epoxy in I wouldn't just pour it in unless you are using a pressure chamber to get all the bubbles out otherwise I use a baby dropper to slowly drip the epoxy into the chess pieces so it doesn't come out holey. ... show more
